The Miting de Avance held at the Philippine Cultural College-Main Auditorium on July 12, 2024, served as a crucial event during the Student Council campaign period. With students from Grades 4-12 in attendance, this program provided an essential platform for both candidates and voters to better understand the potential roles and responsibilities the candidates would take on for the upcoming school year– enabling voters to make more informed decisions.
Dr. Sining Kotah, Vice President for Basic Education and a strong advocate of student leadership, delivered an empowering opening message. She emphasized the importance of the event, stating, “This is actually a practice and exercise for you to become independent.” Through her words, she highlighted that voting for Student Council members was more than just a school activity–it was a formative experience that taught students how to vote responsibly, preparing them for the future as informed and independent citizens.
