First-Ever Kinder Week Hosted
by Marvin Andrew Co (11C-STEM) | February 17, 2022
The Kinder Week in PCC Main was held from November 22 to November 26, marking the culmination of the first semester for the department’s pupils.
This event provided quality bonding time for the kindergarten pupils and their parents. For the duration of the kinder week, different activities were done each day.
The following were the activities for each day:
November 22, Monday (Snack Preparation) - The pupils, together with their parents, made “Ham and Cheese Canapé” and “Milo Dinosaur” using pre-prepared ingredients as Teachers Cathy and Lane demonstrated the process step by step.
November 23, Tuesday (Games) - The pupils played three fun games. The first game was the “Oreo Game” where kinder pupils and their parents had an oreo put on their forehead and only moved their facial muscles to try to eat the Oreo cookie; the second game was the “Feeding Bottle Game”, where nursery pupils had to pour milk into feeding bottles and bottle-feed their parents; the third game was the “Chopsticks and Chocnut Game”, where kinder pupils had to use chopsticks to get the Chocnut from a plate and feed it to their parents.
November 24, Wednesday (Music and Movement) - The pupils grooved to kids’ Zumba beats as they jumped, danced, and moved freely with their parents, teachers, and school administrators.
November 25, Thursday (Arts and Crafts) - The pupils made fruit-shaped fans using colored/crepe paper and popsicle sticks with their parents and teachers.
November 26, Friday (Heart Talks) - On this last day of the kinder week, parents opened up their hearts to their children through a "sorry and promise" letter they wrote on the spot. Selected parents were called to vocally share in the Zoom meeting their messages, which deeply touched the hearts of everyone.
This was the first-ever kinder week held, and i ended in great success, with the kindergarten pupils and their parents having an overall good, fun, and sincere bonding experience.
