On October 23, 2023, the Philippine Cultural College Main was abuzz with excitement as it welcomed distinguished visitors from China. This significant occasion attracted esteemed leaders from the Chinese Language Education Foundation (CLEF), who arrived to offer unwavering support to outstanding overseas Chinese students.
The distinguished gathering featured personalities such as Mrs. Janet Kopio, Chairwoman of the PCC Educational Foundation, Mr. Delfin Letran, President of the PCC Alumni Association, Inc. (PCCAAI), Dr. Polly Wee Sy, the President of Philippine Cultural College, and Dr. Sining Marcos Kotah, the Vice President of the Philippine Cultural College Main. On the other hand, the Chinese visitors were represented by Mr. Yu Xiao, Vice Chairman and Secretary General of CLEF. The delegation was accompanied by Mr. Yao Jin Zhen, President of the Jinjiang Hometown Association in the Philippines.
Mr. Yu Xiao and his distinguished delegation embarked on a comprehensive tour of the school's facilities. Their journey commenced on the Penthouse floor, where they observed students engaged in sports activities. Moving down to the 5th floor, they were welcomed into the school's auditorium. Subsequently, they explored the 4th and 3rd floors, observing students during their class and break periods. A visit to the 2nd floor introduced them to the school library, where they received a heartwarming welcome from daycare pupils. Finally, they convened in the conference room on the 2nd floor for an exchange of ideas.
Dr. Sining Marcos Kotah extended a warm welcome during this pivotal meeting and introduced all the distinguished guests. Dr. Polly Wee Sy expressed her profound gratitude to the special guests and conveyed her hopes for the continuous growth of overseas Chinese education among students. Mrs. Janet Kopio, Mr. Yu Xiao, and Mr. Yao Jin Zhen each delivered eloquent speeches, expressing their enduring support for the Philippine Cultural College, its leaders, and the alumni association. Mr. Yu emphasized CLEF's mission to encourage more overseas students to embrace the Chinese language, fostering connections between China and the Philippines.
The event was enriched with a captivating video presentation celebrating the 100th Centennial Anniversary of the Philippine Cultural College. The video artfully portrayed a century of excellence, showcasing the school's unwavering commitment to educational and cultural excellence.
