The celebration for this year’s World Teacher’s day, prepared by the Senior High School students, was held in HyFlex format on October 5, 2022.
The program this year was different from the years before it, as it was held both onsite and online. The school personnel from different departments celebrated on-site while the students watched online via Zoom. This program was spearheaded by the senior high school head teacher, Mrs. Rocel Verzosa-Sampani, and the students from 12C-STEM.
The emcees of the program were Jeremiah Xu and Alyssa Mae Ong. It started with the singing of the national anthem and the school hymn, followed by a video presentation prepared by the grades one and two pupils. They made an acronym out of the word TEACHER with the words: Thoughtful, Energetic, Adorable, Cheerful, Humble, Enthusiast (sic), and Responsible, and had heartwarming messages to all the teachers.
Subsequently, a game called “The Guessing Game” was facilitated by the game masters, namely Brent Lao and Christian Patrick Yulo, both from 12C-STEM. This game tested the quick-thinking abilities of the teachers and how well they knew their colleagues.
After the game, a video presentation was shown, where the grade 12 students composed short spoken poetry with the theme “Thank you, Teachers” and showcased their love for poetry and their thankfulness towards the school personnel. Subsequently, the talented senior high school students from grade 12 A and B showed their singing and dancing skills.
The game masters were back after a series of video presentations with another game called “Family Feud”. This game was just like the famous game show, where the teachers would be guessing for the top answers in order to gain points or prizes.
Last among the video presentations was the audiovisual performance prepared by the senior high school students, entitled “A Day in the Life of a Teacher”. They showed how teachers spent their day from teaching the students in the classrooms to making PowerPoint presentations every night before they go to bed.
As the program came to an end, the emcees thanked the senior high school head teacher, Mrs. Rocel Verzosa-Sampani, for guiding them and making this program possible. They also mentioned that the teachers would be receiving physical gifts and virtual greetings from the students after the program.
