Philippine Cultural College Main Campus celebrated a five-day event with this year’s Kinder Week, to culminate the kindergarten department’s first semester from November 7 to 11, 2022. The celebration aimed to showcase the pupils' talents, skills, and lessons learned in the first semester.
On November 7, 2022, 何梦露老师 and Teacher Lane hosted the first day’s events, which mainly revolved around arts and crafts. The program started with a video presentation on fireworks. Since fireworks are such a fleeting moment, the teachers have taught the pupils on how to preserve the firework's essence in the form of arts and crafts. The materials for the craft are the following: a printout of the school building; a black A4 sized cartolina; paint that comes in the colors of red, blue, yellow, green, and white; 2 pieces of paper plates; crayons; a pair of scissors; glue; 5 pieces of straw; and old scratch paper enough to cover the work area.
The children were praised for showcasing their creations on the camera to the teachers. The program for the first day ended with a photo-taking session with the children, their parents, their teachers, and their crafts.
On the second day of the event, teachers RJ Lazo and Alyssa Dy showed us the kindergarteners' English storytelling skill with their parents as guests of the said activity. The children, along with their parents, showcased their storytelling skills by reading out loud their fairy tale stories together. After their performances, the teachers asked questions about the stories.
On November 9, 2022, the kindergartners explored science with teachers Leslie Chan and黄玲敏老师. A video presentation started the experiment by letting the kids blow a balloon they had in hand. After the video was the introduction to the experiment, which was to create a balloon inflator using vinegar, an empty bottle, a funnel, baking soda, a balloon, and a spoon. The first step of the experiment was to pour vinegar into the empty bottle using a funnel. After cleaning the funnel dry, use it again to pour some baking soda into the balloon. Remove the funnel from the balloon. After filling the bottle with vinegar and the balloon with baking soda, attach the opening of the balloon onto the mouth of the bottle. Then put the balloon upwards. The balloon inflated, marking the end of the experiment.
On Thursday, November 10, 2022, 陈艾琳老师 and 庄珊珊老师 took over as they presented the Chinese poem recitation for the kindergarten students.
And on the last day, Teacher Cathy Cruz and 陈惠萍老师 hosted an event entitled Little Prince and Little Princess. The judges chosen for the pageant are none other than Dr. Polly W. Sy, Dr. Sining M. Kotah, and Ms. Caroline Tan.
