If you want high-fidelity audio with full situational awareness for your morning runs, choose TANFESO Open Ear Earbuds; if you need a discreet, pressure-free solution specifically designed for side sleeping and overnight meditation, choose RRLLRJ Sleep Earbuds.
These two products serve fundamentally different purposes in the wireless audio landscape. While both claim to offer comfort, they achieve it through opposite design philosophies: one keeps your ears open to the world, while the other seals them off completely for rest. The decision comes down to whether you prioritize active engagement during the day or total immersion during the night. You are not choosing between two similar headphones; you are choosing between a fitness companion and a sleep aid.
• TANFESO Open Ear Earbuds: Best strength is the bone conduction driver technology that lets you hear traffic while listening to music; biggest trade-off is the lack of physical noise isolation which can make bass feel less deep in loud environments.
• RRLLRJ Sleep Earbuds: Best strength is the dual-pair system with ultra-flat profiles that eliminate pillow pressure for side sleepers; biggest trade-off is the limited Bluetooth range and shorter battery life typical of miniature sleep-focused devices compared to sport models.
• Who should buy TANFESO: Runners, cyclists, and gym-goers who need to stay aware of their surroundings without sacrificing audio quality.
• Who should buy RRLLRJ: Side sleepers, light sleepers, and anyone looking for white noise or meditation tracks without ear pain after hours of wear.
The TANFESO M100 model is engineered for the person who refuses to disconnect from their environment while enjoying their playlist. Its defining feature is the open-ear design paired with bone conduction drivers. Unlike traditional in-ear buds that plug up your canal, these sit outside the ear, vibrating against the cheekbone to transmit sound. This creates a unique listening experience where you can enjoy music, podcasts, or calls while still hearing cars approaching on the street or a coach shouting instructions at the gym.
For the active user, stability is non-negotiable. These earbuds weigh only 0.18 ounces and utilize soft silicone ear hooks to ensure they stay put during vigorous movement. Whether you are running, dancing, or working out while wearing glasses, the ergonomic design prevents them from slipping. The inclusion of Bluetooth 5.4 technology further supports this lifestyle by offering a reliable connection up to 33 feet with low latency. This means your audio won't lag behind video clips or gaming action, making them a solid choice for wireless headphones for switch users who also exercise.
However, this design demands a specific type of listener. Because there is no physical seal in the ear canal, these earbuds do not block out external noise. If you are trying to listen to a quiet audiobook on a noisy subway or need deep bass response that vibrates the room, these might fall short. They are not for those seeking silence; they are for those seeking safety and connectivity. The intelligent touch screen controls allow you to manage volume and calls without fumbling, but the lack of active noise cancellation is a deliberate omission to keep the ear open.

You should skip this product if your primary goal is to drown out the world. If you have sensitive ears that get irritated by any vibration, or if you require deep bass that only a sealed driver can provide, the open design will likely disappoint. But for the runner who needs to hear traffic, the cyclist who wants to talk to friends on the trail, or the gym-goer who hates the feeling of wet plastic wedged inside their ear, the TANFESO offers a liberating alternative to standard sports gear.
The RRLLRJ Sleep Earbuds take a completely different approach, focusing entirely on the nuances of rest. The core innovation here is the "2-in-1 Dual earbud set" included in the charging case. This isn't just about having a backup pair; it is about providing two distinct form factors: standard small in-ear buds and ultra-thin flat earbuds. This versatility addresses the most common complaint about sleeping with electronics: the pressure on the side of the face when you lay your head on a pillow.
The ultra-thin profile is critical for side sleepers. Traditional earbuds create a lump that pushes against the pillow, often waking you up or causing discomfort after an hour. These micro earbuds are designed to be virtually invisible and lie flat, ensuring a pain-free fit even when you toss and turn throughout the night. The soft ear tips form a gentle seal that delivers soothing sounds like white noise or meditation tracks, helping you drift off faster without the harshness of loud blasts.
This product is ideal for anyone who uses audio as a tool for relaxation. Whether you need to mask tinnitus, listen to rain sounds to fall asleep, or catch a podcast before bed, the RRLLRJ design minimizes the intrusion of the device itself. The ability to switch between two independent pairs allows you to store one set while wearing the other, or swap them based on which feels better for your specific sleeping position that night.
You should avoid this product if you plan to use it for high-energy activities. The focus on being "discreet" and "ultra-thin" means the build is not optimized for sweat resistance or secure retention during a run. Furthermore, the compact size required for sleeping limits the battery capacity and Bluetooth range compared to larger sport models. If you are looking for best extra bass on ear headphones for switch users who want to pump up the energy in their living room, these tiny sleep aids simply cannot deliver the volume or impact you need. They are a specialized tool for the bedroom, not the living room.
• Best for situational awareness → TANFESO Open Ear Earbuds: The open design ensures you never miss the sound of a car horn or a conversation nearby, making it safer for outdoor activities.
• Best for side sleeping comfort → RRLLRJ Sleep Earbuds: The flat profile eliminates pillow pressure, allowing you to sleep on your side without the pain caused by bulky earbuds.
• Best for connectivity range → TANFESO Open Ear Earbuds: With Bluetooth 5.4, you get a robust 10-meter (33-foot) range, whereas sleep earbuds typically have shorter effective ranges due to power constraints.
• Best for battery longevity during activity → TANFESO Open Ear Earbuds: Designed for long workouts, these generally support longer play sessions than the miniaturized sleep-focused units.
• Best for white noise and meditation → RRLLRJ Sleep Earbuds: The gentle seal and soft tips are specifically tuned for soothing frequencies rather than dynamic music genres.
• Best for all-day versatility → TANFESO Open Ear Earbuds: You can wear these from your morning run to your commute, whereas RRLLRJ is strictly for rest periods.
• Best for USB-C convenience → TANFESO Open Ear Earbuds: Both use modern charging, but the TANFESO includes a digital display case that makes tracking charge levels easier for daily commuters.
• Best for users with glasses → TANFESO Open Ear Earbuds: The open design avoids conflict with temple arms, unlike in-ear options that can sometimes push against frames.
In my opinion, the choice between these two depends entirely on the time of day you intend to use them. I would buy the TANFESO Open Ear Earbuds if my primary goal was to integrate audio into my active lifestyle, particularly for running or cycling where safety is paramount. The ability to hear my surroundings while staying connected via Bluetooth 5.4 makes it the superior usb c charging bone conduction headphones for switch option for anyone who moves. However, if my nights were plagued by the discomfort of bulky headphones pressing against my pillow, I would immediately switch to the RRLLRJ Sleep Earbuds. Their unique dual-pair system solves the side-sleeping problem better than any standard earbud on the market. Ultimately, neither is universally "better"; they are specialized tools for different battles—one for the road, and one for the bedroom.
The TANFESO model uses bone conduction drivers which provide clear audio but naturally lack the deep, rumbling bass of sealed in-ear drivers. The RRLLRJ earbuds are designed for white noise and meditation, so they prioritize clarity over heavy bass impact.
The TANFESO earbuds are rated IPX7 waterproof, meaning they can withstand sweat and rain, but they are not designed for submersion in water like swimming pools or oceans.
Both cases are built to hold their respective earbuds securely. The TANFESO case features a digital display to show charge levels, while the RRLLRJ case focuses on compact storage for its two distinct pairs of earbuds.
