If you want professional-grade sound with active noise cancellation and zero-latency gaming, choose TANCHJIM MINO ASANO Tench; if you need a tangle-free design that prioritizes convenience for running and long battery life on the go, choose MZQYRVK Blue Retractable Neckband.
• TANCHJIM MINO ASANO Tench: Delivers high-fidelity audio with deep bass and -45dB active noise cancellation, but requires careful management of earbuds to avoid losing them during intense movement. Best for audiophiles and gamers who demand studio-quality sound.
• MZQYRVK Blue Retractable Neckband: Features a unique retractable cable system that eliminates tangles entirely and offers 24-hour battery life, though it relies on passive isolation rather than active noise cancellation. Best for runners and commuters who prioritize gear reliability over acoustic perfection.
• The Verdict: The choice hinges on whether you value sonic immersion or physical convenience as your primary need for sleep headphones for workout scenarios.
The TANCHJIM MINO ASANO Tench is engineered for the listener who refuses to compromise on audio fidelity. At its core lies a 10mm full-size high-magnet dynamic transducer with a beryllium-coated dome and PU suspension edge. This specific combination is not just about loudness; it is about achieving a wide dynamic range while keeping non-linear distortion below 0.1%. When you put these in, you are getting a tuning profile designed to mimic a live music venue, with smooth ultra-high frequencies and a midrange that balances tightness with softness. If you are looking for the best active noise cancelling open ear earbuds for workout sessions where focus is paramount, this unit stands out because it actively blocks environmental clamor up to -45dB. Whether you are on a noisy bus or a crowded train, the ANC technology allows you to isolate yourself completely from the commotion.
For those who spend hours gaming or watching video content, the Tench addresses latency head-on. With Bluetooth 5.3 technology, it offers an instant connection and optimized signal interference prevention. When you activate Game Mode, the latency drops to a mere 0.086 seconds. This level of synchronization ensures that what you hear matches exactly what you see on screen, which is critical for competitive gameplay or immersive streaming. Furthermore, the inclusion of ENC (Environmental Noise Cancellation) for calls means that even in windy conditions, your voice remains clear thanks to dual microphones with beamforming technology.

However, this performance comes with a specific user profile in mind. The Tench is an in-ear design that fits snugly to facilitate the ANC seal. While it carries an IPX4 waterproof rating suitable for sweaty workouts and light rain, the lack of a neckband means you must be vigilant about securing the small buds. They are ideal for someone who wants the best fast charging wireless earbuds for workout environments but prefers the freedom of true wireless form factors over bulkier accessories. The app-based customization also suggests a user who enjoys tweaking their experience, setting custom equalizer presets, and defining touch controls for track skipping or call answering. If you want to immerse yourself in a world of rich sound without external distractions, this is the tool for you.
The MZQYRVK Blue Retractable Neckband solves the single most annoying problem with wireless audio: tangled wires. Its standout feature is the auto-retractable mechanism that allows you to adjust the length freely and retract the earbuds with a simple press. This design keeps the headphones neat and prevents the frustration of digging through a knot of cables when you are rushing to the gym or hopping on a commute. The neckband itself is made of arbitrarily bendable materials that fit snugly around your neck, ensuring they stay secure during vigorous activity without slipping. This makes it an exceptional choice for anyone who needs reliable hardware that won't fail when you are in motion. Unlike the in-ear competitors that can feel loose during high-impact exercise, this neckband design anchors the device physically to your body.
In terms of connectivity, the MZQYRVK pushes the envelope with Bluetooth 6.0 technology. This next-generation standard promises faster pairing, a wider connection range, and uninterrupted audio with zero freezing. Even when you move around the gym or office, the stable signal maintains your link to the device. The audio experience focuses on Hi-Fi stereo sound with deep bass and clear treble, powered by premium drivers. While it does not offer active noise cancellation like the TANCHJIM, it utilizes a built-in noise-cancelling microphone for hands-free calls, filtering out background noise effectively for work meetings or daily chats. The battery life is another significant selling point, offering up to 24 hours of continuous playback on a single charge. A high-capacity 200mAh polymer battery ensures you never miss a beat, and the fast-charging capability means just two hours of power fully restores the unit.
This product is tailored for the active lifestyle where convenience trumps technical nuance. The IPX4 sweatproof rating protects against sweat and light splashes, making it ideal for running, gym workouts, and outdoor activities. It is versatile enough for work-from-home calls, commutes, and live streaming. The control method is straightforward push buttons, which are easier to operate with gloves or wet fingers compared to sensitive touch surfaces. If you are tired of losing earbuds or dealing with messy cords, and you prioritize a long-lasting battery that charges quickly, this neckband is the practical solution for your daily routine.

After analyzing the specifications and intended use cases, I would personally buy the TANCHJIM MINO ASANO Tench for my daily listening and workout sessions. The combination of active noise cancellation, extremely low latency for gaming, and the sophisticated 10mm driver setup offers a listening experience that feels far more premium than the standard neckband alternative. While the MZQYRVK has its place with its clever retractable design, the audio fidelity and isolation capabilities of the Tench provide a level of immersion that is simply missing in the competitor's specs. However, if your primary concern is avoiding lost earbuds and you need absolute simplicity, the MZQYRVK is a solid backup. For me, the superior sound quality and ANC make the Tench the better investment for serious listening.
Both options have different approaches; the TANCHJIM TENCH offers excellent isolation via ANC for a quiet environment, while the MZQYRVK's neckband design stays securely on your neck without falling off during rest periods.
The TANCHJIM MINO ASANO Tench features active noise cancellation up to -45dB, which actively blocks out machine noise and chatter, whereas the MZQYRVK relies on passive isolation and a noise-cancelling microphone for calls only.
The TANCHJIM TENCH provides up to 37 hours of total playback with the case, while the MZQYRVK offers 24 hours of direct playback on the neckband itself, meaning the MZQYRVK might require more frequent top-ups depending on usage intensity.
Yes, the MZQYRVK uses Bluetooth 6.0 for potentially faster pairing and wider range, while the TANCHJIM TENCH utilizes Bluetooth 5.3 with optimized frequency hopping for stability in complex wireless environments.
