Economics Graduate Student Association (EGSA)
We are a student organization that aims to improve the quality of academic and social life of graduate students in the Economics department at Texas A&M University.
We agree that the goal of the Economics Graduate Student Association (EGSA) is:
to provide students with socialization opportunities and act as a liaison between students and faculty,
to provide information and support for students as they progress though the program,
to create a safe space for graduate students to voice their feedback and concerns.
Social Committee:
Goal: aims to foster social interactions through activities such as happy hours (held throughout the semester), beginning-of-semester gatherings, sport events, etc.
Members: Suhyeon Oh and Nathan Wise.
Information Committee:
Goal: organizes informational seminars on important academic milestones (course selection, field requirement, important skills needed for research, job market/career). Advanced students, alumni and faculty can join these events to share their experience and give advice on specific related topics.
Members: Priya Chatterjee and Kyung Tae Cho.
Internal Affairs Committee:
Goal: collects graduate students' feedback and communicates with the department to address any issues.
Members: Austyn West.
