Since the 15.2 release there is quite a few songs that display this error when trying to play them. These seem to be mainly songs that are not lossless. They were purchased over time from Apple Music. They will still play if I use the Apple Music app, but they will no longer play from Sonos app. I suspect some lossy codex broke with latest release. Occurs with all my Sonos products.

In the meantime, you can try converting the affected songs to a lossless format or try playing them through the Apple Music app. Hopefully, the issue can be resolved soon so that you can enjoy your music on all of your Sonos products again.

Having the same issue as all of the above posts. Just got all my Apple Music setup, then connected to the Sonos App and it looks like only about 5% of songs are playable. We have one Symphonisk Table Lamp. Really disappointing, and I hope Sonos comes up with a fix as this was the entire reason we got the lamp/speaker in the first place.

I reported the same thing to Sonos, and opened a topic in Ask A Question, to no response. Happened immediately upon updating to 15.2. Songs that had been playing moments before no longer worked. i eventually converted files to lossless...not lossless for my time! Still get the error occasionally.

When I insert a music CD into my external CD-ROM device, macOS Music on Ventura refuses to play the tracks on the disc. It will show up in Music, when I click on a track to play, it just sits there. If I choose to import tracks from the CD, it imports them without complaint - so I know the CD-ROM device is working.

It seems that the Music app refuses to play if your output is a set of HomePods. However I also have an older Zeppelin Wireless that is connected to the network via Airplay 1, and it plays fine to that speaker. That Zeppelin is connected to an old AirPort Express that has Airplay 2 capabilities, and when I try to select that AirPort Express/Zeppelin combo, it refuses to play.

And I find this all really bizarre, since why would Apple hamstring the Music app to exclude Airplay 2 devices - I get that physical CDs aren't very mainstream these days, but look at the resurgence of vinyl. Anyway I'll have to setup my wired speakers again and connect them to the Mac mini M1, but it's all such a PITA!!

I had the same issue. If you double click on the CD name under Devices on the left hand pane it plays the CD. You can skip to the track you want, but double clicking the individual track doesn't work.

I have the same experience with my samsung buds pro, the cds are not reproduced. I disconected them and the Music App reprocuce music in the display speakers or in other headsets conected via bluetooth

While the CD (inserted into Superdrive) is recognized in the Music app, it will neither play nor import; however, Quicktime will play the CD to bluetooth headphones, but so far only for a selected song--not the entire CD.

In this study I examine the play songs of children in several Akan communities. I have collected and transcribed songs from Adonkrono in the East region and Ashim/Mozano from the Central region and described the actions which accompany the songs. In the text of this paper, I discuss the movements and the texts of the songs. I discuss the ways in which they reflect the culture and their educational value to the children who take part in these activities. Through this analysis I hope to show some of the ways in which the play songs both reflect the culture and educate the children in this culture.
