Dr. Tariq Alsahfi is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Information Systems and Technology at the University of Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. Specializing in Machine Learning, Deep Learning, Generative AI (GenAI), Geographic Information Systems (GIS), and Health Informatics, he leads cutting-edge research in spatio-temporal data analysis, AI-driven healthcare solutions, and intelligent transportation systems (ITS).
Dr. Alsahfi holds a Ph.D. in Computer Science from The University of Texas at Arlington (UTA), USA, where his research focused on trajectory data analysis, road map generation, and spatial map matching. He earned his Bachelor’s degree from King Abdulaziz University with second-highest honors and a Master’s and Ph.D. from UTA with a perfect GPA.
His research, supported by prestigious grants, includes:
- "Spatial and Temporal Analysis of Road Traffic Accidents in Major Californian Cities Using GIS" (2022-2023) – Published in ISPRS International Journal of Geo-Information (Q2).
- "Optimizing Healthcare Big Data Performance Through Regional Computing" (2023-2024) – Published in Scientific Reports (Q1).
Dr. Alsahfi has published in top-tier journals such as Scientific Reports, Complex & Intelligent Systems, IEEE Access, and Biomedicines. He is also a certified professional in Big Data Management, Data Analytics, and Deep Learning, and actively contributes as a guest editor, reviewer, and conference speaker.
Passionate about bridging theory and practice, Dr. Alsahfi continues to advance Generative AI, machine learning, and spatial computing to address challenges in transportation, smart cities, and healthcare.
