## 1. Overview

Talk Translate is a voice and text translation app designed around a simple principle: **your conversations are processed entirely on your device**. Speech recognition, language detection, translation and voice playback run locally (Google ML Kit on-device models and the Android speech services installed on your phone). We do not operate any server that receives your voice, your texts or your translations.

## 2. Data we do NOT collect

- Your voice or audio recordings — audio is processed by your device's speech recognition service and never transmitted by us.

- The content of your conversations, translations, favorites or phrasebook usage.

- Your name, email address, contacts, precise location or files.

- Any account data — the app requires no account and has no sign-in.

## 3. Data stored locally on your device only

Translation history, favorites, language packs and app settings are stored in the app's private storage on your device. They never leave it. You can delete them at any time via "Clear all" in the History screen, or by clearing the app's data / uninstalling the app.

## 4. Permissions and why we need them

## 5. Third-party service: Google AdMob (advertising)

The app shows ads through Google AdMob on some screens. AdMob may collect and process, under Google's own privacy policy:

- Advertising ID (resettable identifier), coarse device information (model, OS version, language), app interaction and diagnostics data (ad impressions/clicks), approximate location derived from IP address.

Purposes: ad delivery, frequency capping, fraud prevention, measurement, and — only with your consent where required — ad personalization.

- You can reset or delete your Advertising ID and opt out of personalization in Android Settings → Google → Ads.

**Consent (EEA/UK/Switzerland):** where required by the GDPR/ePrivacy rules, a consent message (Google UMP) is shown before personalized ads are served. You can refuse and receive non-personalized ads, and change your choice later from the app's settings screen. [Adapter selon l'intégration UMP réelle.]

## 6. Third-party service: Google Firebase Analytics

The app uses Google Firebase Analytics to collect pseudonymous usage statistics that help us improve it: screens viewed, session duration, device model and OS version, country derived from IP address, app version, and anonymous feature events (for example "a translation was completed", with only the language codes and the mode — conversation, text or phrasebook). **The content of your speech, texts and translations is never logged.** Data is processed by Google LLC under the policies linked in section 5. Legal basis: consent where required (EEA/UK) and legitimate interest elsewhere.

## 7. Legal bases (GDPR)

- **Performance of the service** (Art. 6(1)(b)): local processing needed to provide translation features.

- **Consent** (Art. 6(1)(a)): personalized advertising in the EEA/UK; withdrawable at any time.

- **Legitimate interests** (Art. 6(1)(f)): non-personalized ads, security, fraud prevention.

## 8. Data retention

We retain nothing on servers of our own. Locally stored data remains on your device until you delete it. Data processed by Google (AdMob, Firebase Analytics) is retained according to Google's retention policies (Analytics event data: up to 14 months).

## 9. International transfers

Google may process the limited advertising data described above on servers outside your country, including the United States, under safeguards such as the EU Standard Contractual Clauses and the EU–US Data Privacy Framework.

## 10. Children

Talk Translate is intended for users aged **13 and over** and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect data from children; the app is not enrolled in any child-directed program. ## 11. Security

Local data is protected by Android's application sandbox. Network traffic used for pack downloads and ads is encrypted (HTTPS).

## 12. Your rights (GDPR and similar laws)

You have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict, object to processing and port your data, and to withdraw consent at any time. Since we hold no data about you, most rights are exercised directly on your device (delete history / reset Advertising ID) or with Google for advertising data. You may lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority (in France: CNIL, cnil.fr).

## 13. Changes to this policy

We will post any update on this page with a new effective date. Significant changes will be highlighted in the app's update notes.
