When I moved to Texas in winter when I was 14, it was really cold! I laugh at that now because I lived in Chicago, where I did my PhD under the supervision of Alex Furman. Here is my CV.
My research is dedicated to understanding discrete (infinite) countable groups through their actions, primarily on nonpositively curved spaces and associated boundaries. The techniques involved are an interplay of geometry, analysis, and algebra.
I am currently a Visiting Professor in the Department of Mathematics at Vanderbilt University and Professor in the Department of Mathematics at University of North Carolina, Greensboro (on leave).
