ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Create 3D character models in Z-brush and Maya, bake lowpoly models, create UVs and texture them with Substance Painter (or equivalent 3D or 2D packages).
Work with other departments (animation/design) so character models follow technical guidelines, and processes and tools can be improved.
3D character artists are responsible for creating: humanoids, monsters, animals, clothing, armor, weapons, and much more.
REQUIREMENTS:
Strong traditional drawing skills, knowledge of human anatomy, excellent feeling for shape, colour, lighting and composition.
A strong interest in medieval/fantasy/steampunk characters and environments.
Working in game editors like Unreal/Unity on personal projects

Rig 3D assets (characters, creatures, props, sets, etc.) to achieve the intended animation performance for both gameplay and cinematics
Support the Animation and Art teams, fulfilling as much as possible their in game and offline needs
Be proactive and vocal about any issues encountered in our rigging pipeline and communicate with the Production team in a timely manner
Author and implement rigs gameplay and cinematic characters, creatures, props, or any other asset that is required in game
Troubleshoot, maintain and improve rigs in production, while ensuring their stability for the animation team
Collaborate with design, modelling, and animation teams to build robust, animation-friendly rigs
Have a good understanding of mesh flow and work closely with modelling team to assess asset topology and provide notes as needed
Research, build and develop unique and one-off rigs
Follow and enforce rigging standards for assets going to the floor
