If you want open-ear listening and a fit designed to stay secure during workouts, choose TAKSTAR LA350W; if you need compact earbuds for side sleeping and a MacBook-friendly USB-C charging case, choose AUDIRA Mini. For everyday use with a MacBook, I lean toward the AUDIRA Mini if low-profile comfort matters most, while the TAKSTAR is the more practical pick when you want to hear more of your surroundings.
• TAKSTAR LA350W strength: Open-ear earbuds with flexible earhooks, a 13mm dynamic driver, and up to 50 hours of total playtime with the case. Trade-off: The open-ear design does not provide the same passive isolation as an in-ear fit.
• AUDIRA Mini strength: A compact in-ear design aimed at side sleepers, with touch controls, a USB-C charging case, and up to 56 hours of total playtime. Trade-off: Its snug, noise-blocking fit is less suited to someone who wants to keep their ears unobstructed.
• TAKSTAR LA350W suits: Workouts, outdoor movement, and listening while staying aware of nearby sounds.
• AUDIRA Mini suits: Bedtime listening, side sleeping, and focused listening on a MacBook.
• Quick pick: Choose the TAKSTAR for an open fit and workout-oriented earhooks; choose the AUDIRA for smaller earbuds and deeper passive isolation.
The TAKSTAR LA350W is an open-ear Bluetooth earbud set built around 13mm dynamic drivers and adjustable earhooks. Its 8.5g weight and hook-style fit point toward longer listening sessions and active use. Because the earpieces sit outside the ear canal, they make more sense for someone who wants to listen while remaining aware of surrounding activity than for someone seeking a sealed, quiet-feeling fit.
The listed total playtime is up to 50 hours with the charging case. The case has a digital battery display, and the earphones and case each take about 1.5 hours to charge. Bluetooth 5.4 handles the wireless connection, while the microphone uses ENC noise cancellation for calls. The earbuds are IPX4 rated, a feature relevant to sweat and splashes during exercise, though it does not make them suitable for submersion.
How We Research
We compare products from their published specs and features; the verdicts below are our independent editorial opinions.
I’d consider the LA350W for walks, cycling, or workouts where a secure earhook and open listening style are useful. It may also work for someone using a MacBook who wants audio without plugging in a cable. I’d skip it if sleep comfort, a snug in-ear seal, or reduced outside noise is the main priority. It isn’t the obvious answer to “best sleep headphones for MacBook”; the AUDIRA’s smaller in-ear form is more directly aimed at that use.
The AUDIRA Mini is a compact in-ear Bluetooth set designed with side sleeping in mind. Its listed weight is 2.9g per earbud, and the product information describes a low-profile shape intended to sit inside the ear rather than protrude. That design makes it the more purpose-built option for a person who wants to listen in bed, especially when resting on their side. Its passive noise cancellation comes from the in-ear fit, not a stated active noise-cancellation system.
For MacBook use, the AUDIRA pairs over Bluetooth and is described as compatible with Mac computers. Its case charges through USB-C, and the listing gives up to 56 hours of total playtime with the case. The stated continuous playback range is 5–10 hours, and the case has a digital battery display. Touch controls are included, alongside an IPX7 water-resistance rating. The supplied figures vary in places, so I’d treat the stated playback as a range rather than assume one fixed runtime.
The AUDIRA is the stronger fit for bedtime listening, commuting, or focused audio when you want a small earbud that blocks some outside sound through its fit. It’s also the clearer match for someone specifically searching for the best USB-C charging headphones for MacBook: the case uses USB-C, while the audio connection itself is wireless. I’d skip it if you prefer open ears, dislike in-ear earbuds, or want earhooks for more visibly secure workout use.
• Best for workouts with an open fit → TAKSTAR LA350W. Its earhooks are designed to hold the earbuds in place through movement, and its IPX4 rating covers sweat and splashes.
• Best for side sleeping → AUDIRA Mini. Its compact in-ear shape is specifically intended to reduce protrusion and pressure when lying on your side.
• Best for staying aware of nearby sounds → TAKSTAR LA350W. Open-ear placement leaves the ear less obstructed than the AUDIRA’s in-ear design.
• Best for a longer stated total runtime → AUDIRA Mini. The case-inclusive claim is up to 56 hours, compared with up to 50 hours for the TAKSTAR.
• Best for a shorter stated earbud charging time → TAKSTAR LA350W. Its earphones are listed at about 1.5 hours to charge; the AUDIRA’s listed charge time is 2 hours.
• Best for MacBook use with a USB-C charging case → AUDIRA Mini. It pairs wirelessly with Mac computers and has a USB-C charging interface. The TAKSTAR also uses Bluetooth, but its sheet specifies a charging cable without identifying its connector as USB-C.
• Best for a simple battery check → Both. Each case has a digital battery display, so neither has a clear advantage on that specific feature.
If you’re comparing the best volume limiting headphones for MacBook, neither product’s listed features establish a volume-limiting function. The TAKSTAR’s open-ear design may appeal if you want to avoid sealing off your ears, while the AUDIRA’s in-ear fit is intended to provide passive isolation. Those are different listening experiences, not a documented volume limit.
My Verdict
In my opinion, I’d buy the AUDIRA Mini for MacBook listening if my main priorities were side-sleeping comfort, a compact in-ear fit, and USB-C charging for the case. Its 56-hour case-inclusive playtime is also the larger stated total.
I’d choose the TAKSTAR LA350W instead for workouts and open-ear awareness. The right pick comes down to whether you want a low-profile in-ear fit or a hook-secured open-ear design.
Both connect by Bluetooth, and the AUDIRA is explicitly described as compatible with Mac computers. It also has a USB-C charging case. The TAKSTAR can suit wireless MacBook listening too, but its listed charging details don’t specify USB-C.
They are designed as compact in-ear earbuds for side sleepers, with a listed weight of 2.9g per earbud. That design is more directly suited to bedtime listening than the TAKSTAR’s earhook form, though comfort can vary from person to person.
The AUDIRA lists 5–10 hours of continuous playback, while the TAKSTAR lists a 12-hour average battery life. Those figures are not presented on the same basis, so they don’t support a clean one-to-one comparison of earbud runtime. With their cases, the stated totals are up to 56 hours for AUDIRA and 50 hours for TAKSTAR.
The AUDIRA lists passive noise cancellation, which comes from its in-ear fit. The TAKSTAR has an ENC noise-canceling microphone for calls, but its listed noise control is “None”; that is not the same as active noise cancellation for listening.
