If you want open-ear comfort and all-day endurance for active listening sessions, choose TAKSTAR LA350W; if you need deep bass, superior call clarity, and seamless multi-device connectivity, choose Philips T2000. Both headsets aim to serve audiophiles who demand high fidelity, but they approach the experience from fundamentally different angles. The choice between these two models isn't about which one is universally superior; it is entirely about whether your priority is situational awareness and extended wear time or immersive sound isolation and professional-grade microphone performance.
• TAKSTAR LA350W: Offers an open-ear design with 50 hours of total playtime and ultra-lightweight comfort (8.5g), but lacks active noise cancellation and features smaller 13mm drivers. Best for runners and outdoor enthusiasts who need to hear their surroundings.
• Philips T2000: Delivers powerful dynamic bass with 6mm drivers, 4-microphone call technology, and Bluetooth multipoint connectivity, but offers shorter single-charge battery life and an in-ear fit. Best for commuters and office users seeking rich audio and clear calls.
• The Decision: Pick the TAKSTAR for long-duration workouts where safety and breathability matter most; pick the Philips for daily listening where sound depth and connection stability are paramount.
The TAKSTAR LA350W is engineered for a very specific type of listener: the active audiophile who refuses to sacrifice situational awareness for music quality. Its defining characteristic is the open-ear architecture. Unlike traditional earbuds that seal the ear canal, these utilize an open-air enclosure with ergonomically designed earhooks. This design choice means you get immersive sound without blocking out the world around you. For someone who runs on busy streets or cycles through traffic, this safety feature is non-negotiable. The 8.5g weight makes them virtually unnoticeable on the ears, a critical factor when wearing headphones for hours at a time. If you have ever felt the "ear fatigue" associated with in-ear monitors after a long session, the TAKSTAR solves that problem by leaving the ear canal completely free.
The audio profile relies on a Ø13mm dynamic driver paired with V5.4 Bluetooth technology. While 13mm might seem modest compared to some large over-ear units, the impedance of 20Ω and a frequency response spanning 20Hz to 20kHz ensure a pure, balanced sound signature. You won't get the heavy, muddying bass of a sealed unit, but you will get crisp highs and clear mids that don't distort at higher volumes. The inclusion of ENC (Environmental Noise Cancellation) on the microphone side ensures that while you hear the world, people on the other end of a call can hear you clearly, even if there is background wind or road noise.

This product is ideal for the dedicated athlete or the person who spends their day moving. The IPX4 waterproof rating means sweat and light rain are no threat, making it suitable for intense gym sessions or morning jogs in damp weather. The battery life is a standout feature here, offering a total of 50 hours when combining the 12-hour single charge of the earbuds with the charging case. This eliminates the anxiety of running out of power during a long weekend trip or a marathon training block. However, because they are open-ear, they do not provide passive sound isolation. If you sit next to a loud air conditioner or a chatty coworker, the music volume will compete with the ambient noise rather than drown it out. Consequently, this headset is best skipped by those who require absolute silence or plan to listen in extremely noisy environments like subways or construction sites.
The Philips T2000 targets the listener who prioritizes sonic immersion and communication clarity above all else. As an in-ear device with a bud-style enclosure, it utilizes Sound Isolation as its primary method of noise control. By physically blocking the ear canal, it creates a natural barrier against external distractions, allowing the user to focus entirely on the audio track. This makes it the superior choice for the audiophile who wants to hear every nuance in a recording without cranking the volume to dangerous levels. The 6mm dynamic drivers are tuned specifically for Dynamic Bass Boost, delivering deep, powerful lows that are often missing in open-ear designs. Even at low volumes, the soundstage feels rich and full, catering to those who love hip-hop, electronic music, or any genre driven by strong percussion.
Where the Philips truly shines, however, is in its connectivity and call capabilities. It features four microphones with an AI-enhanced noise-reduction algorithm, ensuring that your voice remains crystal clear regardless of the environment. Whether you are taking a business call in a bustling café or navigating a windy street, the system isolates your voice effectively. Furthermore, the Bluetooth 5.4 chip supports Multipoint connectivity, a game-changer for multitaskers. You can be connected to your laptop for a video conference and your phone for a text message simultaneously, switching seamlessly between the two without disconnecting and reconnecting. This level of integration is absent in many competitors and is essential for modern professionals.
Battery management is handled efficiently, though differently than the TAKSTAR. You get 7 hours of continuous playback on a single charge, with an additional 25 hours provided by the case for a total of 32 hours. A unique selling point here is the quick-charge capability: just 10 minutes of charging via USB-C yields an extra hour of music. This is incredibly convenient for those who forget to charge overnight but need a quick top-up before heading out. The compact, lightweight plastic build makes them easy to slip into a pocket, and the IPX4 rating confirms they can handle sweat and splashes. However, the in-ear design means they can become uncomfortable for some users during extended wear, especially if they have sensitive ear canals. They are also less suitable for activities where hearing traffic or environmental warnings is critical, as the physical seal blocks outside sounds.
• Best for battery life → TAKSTAR LA350W: With 50 hours of total playtime compared to the Philips' 32 hours, the TAKSTAR wins for marathon listening sessions.
• Best for call quality → Philips T2000: Four microphones with AI noise reduction outperform the TAKSTAR's standard ENC setup for voice clarity in noisy settings.
• Best for situational awareness → TAKSTAR LA350W: The open-ear design allows you to hear traffic and surroundings, a safety necessity for runners and cyclists.
• Best for bass and immersion → Philips T2000: The in-ear seal and Dynamic Bass Boost create a deeper, more immersive low-end experience.
• Best for multi-device users → Philips T2000: Bluetooth Multipoint allows simultaneous connection to two devices, a feature the TAKSTAR does not list.
• Best for extreme comfort → TAKSTAR LA350W: At only 8.5g with open-ear hooks, it is significantly lighter and less likely to cause ear fatigue than in-ear buds.
• Best for quick top-ups → Philips T2000: A 10-minute charge provides an hour of use, whereas the TAKSTAR requires a longer charge cycle for similar gains.
• Best for audiophiles seeking balance → TAKSTAR LA350W: For those who prefer a neutral, clear sound without heavy bass emphasis and want to stay aware of their environment.
• Best for audiophiles seeking power → Philips T2000: For those who prioritize rich, dynamic sound and complete isolation from the outside world.
In my opinion, if you are looking for the best headset for audiophiles who value safety and endurance, the TAKSTAR LA350W is the winner. Its ability to deliver 50 hours of playback while keeping your ears open and safe makes it the most versatile tool for an active lifestyle. However, if your definition of high-fidelity includes deep bass and you frequently take calls in chaotic environments, the Philips T2000 is the smarter investment. I would personally buy the Philips T2000 for my daily commute and office work because the multipoint connectivity and superior microphone array solve problems I face every day that the TAKSTAR cannot address. For the ultimate kids headphones for audiophiles or for adults who need to hear their surroundings, the TAKSTAR is the safer, more practical choice. Ultimately, the decision rests on whether you want to be isolated in your music or remain connected to your environment.
Neither model fits the strict definition of "on-ear" (which sits on the pinna), as both are true wireless earbuds. The TAKSTAR is open-ear, while the Philips is in-ear. Both offer high-quality audio for their form factors, but neither replaces traditional on-ear headphones for studio monitoring.
The TAKSTAR LA350W offers a longer total battery life of 50 hours compared to the Philips T2000's 32 hours. If you are traveling for several days without access to a charger, the TAKSTAR will last longer between charges.
The Philips T2000 has a distinct advantage with its four-microphone array and AI noise reduction, making it far superior for clearing up voice calls in loud environments compared to the TAKSTAR's standard ENC microphone.
Yes, both the TAKSTAR LA350W and the Philips T2000 carry an IPX4 rating. This means they are both resistant to sweat and light rain, making them suitable for running, cycling, and gym workouts.
