Take a Leap

Hyper-Casual Mobile Game

What are hyper-casual games?

Hyper-casual mobile games are self-explanatory, minimalistic, instantly understandable, and have a single action or goal. They have become more popular in recent years.

Take a Leap

The main goal of Take a Leap is to jump from one platform to another and get as far as possible. That can be done by holding the finger on the screen and moving it left or right depending on the wanted jump direction.

The game was developed with Unity. The character and its animations were made in Blender. The Bézier curve was used for multiple coins and the arrow trajectories. Singleton and object pool programming patterns were used to optimize the code, that was written in C#. Jsfxr was used to generate some audio clips.

Testing

The game received mostly positive feedback, as players found it appropriately challenging. However, suggestions were provided to enhance the game's enjoyment by refining its mechanics, level design, and overall user experience. Furthermore, the difficulty of the levels advanced at an appropriate pace. There is potential for numerous improvements, and testers also contributed new ideas that could be incorporated into the game.

Future plans

There are plans to fix the bugs found during testing and enhance the graphics of the game.
