Taimoor Sohail
I am a Research Fellow at the School of Geography, Earth and Atmospheric Science at the University of Melbourne.
My research interests lie in combining machine learning and data science methods to study ocean heat and freshwater changes and large-scale ocean circulation. I am interested in the dynamical response of the ocean to anthropogenic climate change using a variety of tools, including high-resolution direct numerical simulations (DNS), novel water mass transformation frameworks, climate models and ocean observations.
Further details on my research interests are provided here. Please contact me if you are interested in pursuing a research program under any of these broad themes.
