During a night of December 1476, Giovanni Auditore attacked a group of Templars led by the Grand Master of the Italian Templars Rodrigo Borgia in Florence. The Grand Master fled the scene but Giovanni captured a henchman who revealed under torture that the Templars wanted to assassinate the Duke of Milan, Galeazzo Maria Sforza, to weaken the power of Lorenzo de' Medici in Florence. On 26 December, Giovanni arrived too late to impeach the assassination of the Duke by the Templars Carlo Visconti, Gerolamo Olgiati and Giovanni Andrea Lampugnani in the Basilica di Santo Stefano Maggiore in Milan. The Templars were killed by the Duke bodyguards before interrogation.[12]

After these events, Giovanni made a list of the Templar conspirators and imprisoned Francesco de' Pazzi, a Templar banker who planned to assassinate Lorenzo de' Medici and capture Florence for the Templars. The Templars, however, with the help Uberto Alberti, arrested Giovanni, Federico and his younger son Petruccio for treason.[16]

In April 1478, La Volpe discovered that a Templar reunion would take place under Basilica di Santa Maria Novella. The Assassin shared his information with Ezio while testing his parkour skills. After a race, the Assassin showed to Ezio the secret entrance to assist to the Templar meeting.[28] Later, la Volpe met up again with Ezio who informed him that the Templars planned to assassinate Lorenzo de' Medici and his brother, which would allow them to take power in Florence. The Assassin informed the young man of the danger if Lorenzo died, encouraging Ezio to act.[29] On 26 April, Ezio prevented the murder of Lorenzo and killed Francesco de' Pazzi, leading to the escape of the co-conspirators.[30]

When Ezio returned to Monteriggioni, he gave Mario Da Vinci's translation of the Codex pages. A new part of the prophecy was revealed, related to a Prophet and two Pieces of Eden. With no other information, Mario further Ezio training while his mercenaries searched the Templars conspirators in Tuscany.[31] Localizing, Antonio Maffei, Francesco Salviati, Bernardo Baroncelli and Stefano da Bagnone, Ezio assassinated every Templar involved in the Pazzi conspiracy and even mercifully finished Jacopo de' Pazzi who was betrayed by Borgia. These actions made the Medici powerful allies of the Assassins for many years.[32]

On 11 September 1485, the thief guild infiltrated the Palazzo della Seta as guards while Ezio killed Barbarigo. De Magianis took the palace as his new headquarters for the guild.[38] Three days later, the Assassin helped Ezio to find a way to infiltrate the Palazzo Ducale to prevent the assassination of the Doge Giovanni Mocenigo by the Templar Carlo Grimaldi.[39] As the only way to enter in the palace was by the air, de Magianis tasked his thieves to ignite fires through the city, helping Ezio to use Da Vinci Flying Machine to enter in the palace. Ezio killed Grimaldi but arrived too late to prevent the death of the Doge.[40]

After the events of Venice, the Assassins decided to hide the Apple in Forl, a city controlled by Caterina Sforza, an ally of the Brotherhood. Ezio and Machiavelli escorted the Apple to Forl, but the city was attacked by the Orsi brothers, who were hired by Rodrigo to find the map of Girolamo Riario which revealed the location of the Codex pages.[51] During the battle, the Orsis were assassinated, although Ezio was wounded and lost the Apple. He later learned that the Apple was taken by a Florentine monk with a missing finger, Girolamo Savonarola. Before beginning his investigation on the monk, Caterina gave Ezio the map of her dead husband, which helped the Assassin complete the Codex Wall.[52]

In 1497, Ezio returned to Florence, where Savonarola had taken the Apple, used it to control the leader of the city and exiled the Medici. Ezio, Paola, La Volpe and Machiavelli started a revolt against Savonarola's rule. Ezio killed the lieutenants and the other Assassins led the population against Savonarola. One year later, Ezio retrieved the Apple after Savonarola was attacked by the mob. Just before Savonarola was about to be burned alive in public, Ezio assassinated the monk, as he believed that no one should have to suffer such a horrific fate. Before the population, Ezio demanded to the crowd to follow their own free will, and not anyone else like Savonarola, the Medici, or himself.[91]

The Assassin (Italian: L'assassino) is a 1961 Italian crime film directed by Elio Petri.[2] It is the feature film debut of Petri. It was entered into the 11th Berlin International Film Festival.[3]

I started playing the Assassin's creed 2. I really love authenticity. To feel each game differently, with different language and accents. Therefore, I need advice: Does the game lose something if you put Italian voice acting? Like, maybe in some parts where character speak French, in italian do they ignore this and will still speak Italian? Or is there enough Italian accents in English to get you immersed? I don't care if I don't understand what characters speak: I have subtitles for that. I'm curious, what is your opinion on this?

Like with many Italian recipes, traditionalists would never want to change the original killer spaghetti recipe. However, a number of chefs in Bari and even Naples are making variations. There's an assassina di rape, made with broccoli rabe and stracciatella cheese, as well as an assassina di mare with squid and prawns and another with fried nolche olives (a sweet table olive).

Hi Marianna, thanks for your question. The original recipe for this spaghetti all'assassina calls for a cast iron pan. However, I use a non-stick iron skillet. Also, I have read that highly acidic tomato sauce that's cooked for at least 30 minutes can create a reaction and result in a metalic taste. But, in this recipe the sauce is watered down and the spaghetti doesn't need 30 minutes to be done. So, I assume it's okay to use a cast iron skillet.

This chapter will present an overview of the effects of anarchist assassinations and assassination attempts on the political, social and cultural history of Italy from the 1870s to the 1930s. Assassinations carried out by anarchists had a significant effect on the politics and the political culture of modern Italy, especially during the 1890s and the middle 1920s. I will examine how the intended and the unintended effects of these acts shaped the liberal and fascist states. This will be followed by a discussion of the effects of these acts on Italian culture and particularly on the culture of the left. This will include an examination of the social and cultural contexts of the assassins or would-be assassins themselves. Finally, the conclusion examines the mysteries, the serendipity, and the maze of competing narratives surrounding their acts.

Felice Giovine, a historian of Apulian cuisine, states this dish originated at the end of the 1960s at Al Sorso Preferito, a restaurant in Bari's city center. Contrary to popular belief, spaghetti all'assassina wasn't created as a way to use leftover pasta. When the owners acquired the adjacent restaurant, a former rotisserie, they found the written recipe for the pasta and decided to give it a whirl.

Spaghetti all'assassina is such a source of local pride that a dedicated academy and counter-academy exists. These experts and enthusiasts are committed to enhancing it through monthly meetings that revolve around sharing and generosity. They're unwavering when it comes to cooking with the black iron pan, an essential tool for its preparation. This oiled, burnt frying pan is never washed but rather cleaned with newspaper so that it stays greasy. Massimo Dell'Erba, the academy's president, advocates for the iron pan due to its high heat conduction, though some safety regulations prohibit it. For homemade Assassina, Apulian food authority Sandro Romano explains that "a non-stick frying pan is also fine" while Dell'Erba points out that "iron pans purchased on the market can release oxides or other substances, so opt for professional iron frying pan [like a lyonnaise pan]."

A very recent new entry among the favorite places for Assassina lovers, Gola Gourmet is an informal place where in full southern tradition everyone feels at ease. Here the spaghetti all'assassina remain faithful to tradition even if they define their recipe as "a fair compromise between the spicy an...

Together with her lady-in-waiting, the Hungarian Countess Irma Sztray, she walked the short distance between the hotel and the pier without her entourage, despite warnings of possible assassination attempts. be457b7860
