Hi, I am Taharina Tasnim. My nickname is Misha. I am currently doing M.Sc. in Computer Engineering at Stony Brook University. My current courses are Computer Vision, Stochastic System and Computational Model for Computer Engineers.

I am a former employee(Software Engineer) of Samsung R&D Institute, Dhaka, Bangladesh. I am interested in human computer interaction, machine learning, software systems though my undergraduate thesis was on bioinformatics.

I completed B.Sc. in Computer Science and Engineering from Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology(BUET). My undergraduate thesis was An Alignment-free Method for Phylogeny Reconstruction using Maximum Likelihood under the supervision of Dr. Atif Hasan Rahman.

Working Experience

As a Software Engineer (15-May-2019 to present), my main responsibilities include

1. 1. Implement software solution according to software design specifications and UX requirement as well by following standard coding styles

   2. Provide maintenance and support for already built application

   3. Help with the bug fixes and add features on demand

   4. Research on new idea and software feature

   5. Collaboration and communication with internal and overseas teams for project work

   6. Participation in code review

   7. Arrange training for new joiners

Till now I implemented features and resolved issues for several modules as a team on Galaxy and Android watches. Some are like -

• Samsung Galaxy Watch (Tizen OS)

1. 1. Settings

Developed new features in Advanced, General, About watch etc. menu and fixed bugs in settings module

1. 2. PPT Controller

It can control power point presentation on computer/phones from Samsung Smart Watch. Developed most of the features such as showing connected devices, slide change, wrap-up alert, interval alert, mouse pad control etc.

1. 3. Camera Controller

It can control phone's camera from Samsung Smart Watch. Worked on photo capture, video recording control, lens change features etc.

Development platform of all these Galaxy watch applications is C, C++ (Tizen)

• Android Watch

It is a collaboration project of Samsung and Google. Currently developing features and analytics for several modules in this smart watch.

Development platform is Android.
