A vector is two numbers inside a set of brackets. The vector indicates a movement from one point to another point.
The top number in the brackets tells us which way to move left or right (horizontally) and the bottom number tells us which way to move up or down (vertically).
When an object translates from one place to another, it moves from one place in a straight line to another place.
Translation is the process of translating an object from one point to another.
Point A has translated (moved) in a straight line to Point A'.
We know from the vector, Point A' is 4 squares to the right and 7 squares above Point A.
