In Number:

A unit represents the digit in the ones place.

eg   In the number 452, the unit or ones is the digit 2 and has a value of 2.

In Measurement & Geometry:

Units are symbols placed at the end of a quantity that display the type of measurement being shown.

eg metres (m) or seconds (s) or grams (g) etc
