similar

Similar means two things are very close to being the same.

eg Two shapes could be similar.

eg Two sets of data could be similar

When two shapes have the same angles, and their sides or lengths are either the same or a constant ratio to each other, they are similar shapes.

Example

Triangle ABC is similar to Triangle A'B'C'.

They have the same angles, however Triangle A'B'C' is three times bigger than Triangle ABC.
