rotation

A rotation is a transformation where the object spins ('rotates') around a point.

The object spins around the Point of Rotation, either in a clockwise or an anti-clockwise direction.

Example

Triangle ABC has been rotated around Point O by 90° in an anticlockwise direction to create Triangle A'B'C'.

Note

1. Triangle ABC is the object. Triangle A'B'C' is the image.

2. Rotating the object 90° in an anticlockwise direction is the same as rotating the object by 270° in a clockwise direction.
