A relationship is the way in which two things are connected.
In Mathematics, we are mostly looking at how two variables are connected.
Example 1
The connection between sales of ice creams and the daily temperature.
Relationship: As the temperature increases, the sales of ice creams generally increase.
Example 2
A = {1, 2, 3, 4, 5}
B = {2, 4, 6, 8, 10}
Relationship: Set B is twice the size of Set A.
Example 3
The graph below has a linear relationship.
Example 4
The graph below has a parabolic relationship.
