quartile

A quartile is a section of data after it has been broken into four sections.

Note

1) The median is the middle number.

2) The Lower Quartile (abbreviated to LQ) is middle value of the bottom half of data.

3) The Upper Quartile (abbreviated to UQ) is the middle value of the top half of data.

4) The LQ, Median and UQ breaks a set of data up into four sections, called quartiles.
