A number line is a 1-dimensional (1D) line that shows numbers.
The number system in Mathematics does not end.
Whatever large number (or small number) you think of, we can continue counting past this.
However, infinity "represents" the end.
If we are counting to the right (positive integers), then positive infinity is "the end".
If we are counting to the left (negative integers), then negative infinity is "the end".
The infinity sign is like the number 8 on it's side.
