INTRODUCING THE YEARBOOK COORDINATORS
Jaclyn Chiou
My name is Jaclyn Chiou and this is my 10th year at TAF! I’m half Taiwanese American (3rd generation) and half Japanese American! I’m a rising senior, and at my school, I’m on the girls volleyball team and girls track and field team. Some of my hobbies include painting, running, bullet journaling, reading, photography and dancing! Over quarantine, I been going on many bike rides and vlogging daily (I’ve learned that my life isn’t that interesting). I also been trying to do new things like learning a little American Sign Language and I even tried learning how to play guitar (emphasis on the tried). I’m beyond excited to be one of your yearbook coordinators and for you all to see our newsletters and digital yearbook!
Johnny Chen
IT’SSSS JOHNNY!!! Johnny Chen to be exact: the 18-year-old Aries Horse future-Brown-student blood-type-O-positive 9th-year TAFer. He dabbles in anime, is a seventh of the world-famous K-pop group Big TAF Sad, and spells theatre like that. He became a yearbook coordinator for one reason and one reason only: to be a yearbook coordinator because it’s cool and fun and awesome. Let’s ask him now. Hey Johnny why yearbook cool? “Making yearbook fun and newsletters fun too. Also media editing cool I like that a lot. Also also that pink thing in the background is my cardboard cutout of a kawaii unitato. I made it myself in middle school :)” Thanks Johnny for audibly dictating a smiley emoticon. Now you know all about him. Have fun and send submissions to the TAF Times.
Emily Shih
My name is Emily and this is my 7th year at TAF! I am currently a rising senior, and at school, I am part of the badminton team and have been playing badminton for almost 8 years now. I am a big stationery addict and have 400+ pens, markers, mechanical pencils, etc (yeah it’s kinda a problem oops!). During quarantine, I have been watching lots of c-dramas, playing League of Legends, bullet journaling, and making lots of food with my sister. I can’t wait to see all the submissions for the TAF Times and completing the digital yearbook for y’all!!
Gwyn Lai
My name is Gwyn and this is my sixth year at TAF! I am an incoming junior ( ugh, kinda scary), and I run cross country and track during the school year and regularly show off my toe socks with my sandals. Over quarantine, I have been going on long runs and bike rides along with trying to become a yogi (I just want to learn how to handstand). I’ve also been binge-watching Boy Meets World on Disney +, fueling my terrible caffeine dependence that I’ve developed during quarantine (Iced black cold brew of course), and attempting to expand my giant spoon + fork collection. I am so excited to see the submissions for TAF Times and am even more excited to see the final result of this year’s digital yearbook.
Samantha Lee
Hey it's Samantha and this is my 9th year at TAF! I am an incoming freshman into college and will be studying business at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor (GO BLUE). I LOVE traveling and am also a HUGE foodie so if you’re ever looking for restaurants in your area, I am your girl. Lemme just say sushi, pasta, boba, or anything matcha hit different! Over quarantine, I’ve done a couple of Chloe Ting workout challenges (they are ROUGH but it gets better!), baked various desserts (cheesecake and french macarons are my favorites), and upcycled some of my old clothes! I’m super excited to see what submissions we receive for our upcoming newsletters and for everyone to see the final digital flip yearbook!
