The Chromebooks, Chromeboxes, and Chromebases that were launched before 2019that are able to install Android apps are listed below. Unless specifiedelsewhere, all devices that have launched in or after 2019 will support AndroidApps. Roll-out of Android Apps is done on a device-per-device basis as it isdependent on a number of factors including the hardware platform that thedevice is based on and each device must be compatible withAndroid. While we won't be able tobring Android apps to every Chromebook ever made, we're continuing to evaluatemore devices and we'll update this list as new devices are added. Even if yourChromebook isn't on the list below, it will continue to get other new featuresand improvements.

Tip: The Google Play Store and any Android apps that you download are only available for the account that signed in first. To use them with a different account, sign out of your accounts and sign in with the account you want to use.

Tip: If your Chromebook has sync turned off, but backup and restore turned on, it can still back up your Android apps. If you have more than one Chromebook, your Android apps and their data might not sync across your Chromebooks fully.

By default, your Chromebook syncs the Android apps on your Chromebook across your other Chromebooks. If your Chromebook doesn't sync your apps, check your sync settings and select Sync everything or turn on Apps syncing. Learn how to change your sync settings.

If you opt to send Google data about the usage and performance of your Chromebook, Google gets diagnostic and usage data about your app activity. Google also receives crash reports. Any crash reports Chrome sends to Google may also include some sensitive information about your Android apps.

You can update your Android apps and the Play Store app one at a time, all together, or automatically. Updating your apps to the latest version gives you access to the latest features and improves app security and stability.

Here's what gets transferred: contacts, message history, camera photos and videos, photo albums, files and folders, accessibility settings, display settings, web bookmarks, mail accounts, WhatsApp messages and media, and calendars. If they're available on both Google Play and the App Store, some of your free apps will also transfer. After the transfer completes, you can download any free apps that were matched from the App Store.

In 2016, the Google Play Store was brought to ChromeOS, allowing the same apps that run on phones and tablets to run on Chromebooks without compromising their speed, simplicity or security. I've been trying out 1password for my family and really enjoying it over other password managers like Lastpass. However, on Android I seem to be having issues with some apps when using credentials that were originally for the website version. For example, my captialone account works fine in browser but when I open up in app, 1P doesn't display my credentials. I have to manually open the 1P app and search for the account, copy and paste the password over. Could this be a permission issue? Is there a "health check" functionality that would check everything is good? Capitalone and thinkorswim are two apps that don't prompt me with credentials even though they are linked.

I suspect there may be two factors at play here. First off, linking to Android apps works a little differently than linking to a website or to apps on another platform (iOS for example). If you have previously used your Capital One login on their website or with the Android app via another password manager, the item likely does not have an Android app link.

I'm having a similar issue with the Starbucks app. Autofill seems to work with other apps, but when I try opening from the android app, the username/password are not populated. I've tried long pressing the password field in the app and do not get the "Open 1Password" or prompt to autofill. What exactly does the Linked app option do? ad can this be manually created?

I was having the same issue with the US Bank app on my android phone. Switching the Autofill setting to show Below the fields they relate to almost works. When I hold on the account name it pops up a box that says Autofill now and will put in the password but not the user ID which may not sound like a problem except I have so many user ID's that I have to go back to 1password and find the user ID. At least I'm only copying the user ID and not the password.

I am still having little success in using Bitwarden with Android apps, and no Android users have shown up here to offer advice. grb admits to not being a mobile app user. A related question: Are there ever instances of Bitwarden and an app working together without my having to explicitly define a URI for the app, or is that always a requirement?
