"Do it yourself" ("DIY") is the method of building, modifying, or repairing things by oneself without the direct aid of professionals or certified experts. Academic research has described DIY as behaviors where "individuals use raw and semi-raw materials and parts to produce, transform, or reconstruct material possessions, including those drawn from the natural environment (e.g., landscaping)".[1] DIY behavior can be triggered by various motivations previously categorized as marketplace motivations (economic benefits, lack of product availability, lack of product quality, need for customization), and identity enhancement (craftsmanship, empowerment, community seeking, uniqueness). From the passion in diy, I have come up with a determination of making myself a channel to share my hobby of diy crafts. Diy is not a new trend, but it takes a person quite a love and a determination not to go to a commercial page to put an order instead of spending time and labour to plan, look for material, test, and make things happen. At the first time seeing my husband buying tools to make pieces of furniture himself, I wondered what was in it that made him spend on tools and wood rather than enjoy his time for leisure after works. He could have gone to a shop and buy that furniture with lots of options at quite affordable prices. So I tried making things myself to see. and I found that It was not about the item itself but the feelings during the process. It's the great feelings of achievement after finding out of to get a detail complete perfectly, or simply being able to follow a technique of making things that I learn from a diy video.
Normally when talking about diy crafts, people often think of stuff for kids and elementary school and forget that there are so-called harder more meticulous diy pieces for elder. Since the boomer generation with the highly development of commercial industry, wants and needs of people have started to be fulfilled to the ultimate levels with more and more affordable cost. In such a society where everything is made available on the market with so an affordable price for every single niche of the market and is shipped to your doorstep, people start forgetting their abilities of create things by themselves but instead they buy themselves what they like. Why makes it complicated when you just have to spend a few bucks then you are served at your doorsteps. In the last months of each year, there comes a shopping season, started with the event of Black Friday and followed with it the Christmas season, a holiday which is not only for Christians but a universal one that everybody can feel the touch of it. One of the thing that comes with Christmas is Christmas decorations, Christmas gifts, great chances for commerce. However, during the same decades of boomer generation, there comes Diy, a trend that has started and lasted to this days. More than ever, with the wide variety of media channels, diy crafts and techniques have emerged in the lives of many people. Some follow the trend as their way of recreation, others make their living with it via a great deal of ways. With the Christmas season comes, not only do you feel the Christmas ambience on every street and alley but also on the internet. With the diy community, that the great season for members to show off their creativity with a multitude of great ideas for diy Christmas decorations starting with diy christmas ornaments from a wide range of materials even with reclaimed material from cardboard, plastic box and bottle, news paper, pieces of retired furniture, or clothes.

Paper crafts, so familiar with everyone of us from our very young age. With our growing up gradually we forgot such an art which has reach so high a level that we all once used to practice in the old days at school. We have forgotten how great card and paper is as a medium to express our imagination and view of the surrounding world through a wide variety of techniques. There are certain kinds of paper crafts associated with specific cultures and countries such as papel picado which is known to be practiced in Mexico using chisel, or Chinese paper cutting using scissors and knife, or wycinanki in Europe. With more and more types of paper present on the market, and the emerged trend of using reclaimed paper for decorations, paper crafts now have more media to be performed. If you are a flower lover and want to decorate your home with flowers, real flowers are not the only option. of course it is so convenience now to put an order to be served at your door steps with a wide variety of flowers. But for me, I am not only a flower lover but also a home decoration and diy. Only buying stuff to decorate my home will certainly give me a little bit feelings of void in my decoration, especially in the preperation for the big holiday season like Christmas. Since my young age, I have participated with my family in making ornaments to decorate not only Christmas but also Lunar new year. If it was just putting in things in place for decoration I would not have such cosy memories that I have now when thinking of those holiday at home. That diy tradition of my family has not just built up my passion in creating things for decoration but strengthened the bond between each of my family members. I think many of you also have the same feelings when talking about those good old days working with family for decorating home with stuff that you made. How sweet it is, isn't it. In the time before google or youtube, I had to look up the techniques of making ornaments in books of crafting, paper crafts, .... now with the strong search engine and the big community of diy, it has been easier than ever to search for methods and techniques for making crafts.
From the passion in diy and crafts of my good old days, I now have the courage to dedicate my time for that passion in diy, paper crafts, home decorations and share it with the community via my TA Diy ideas channel on Youtube and Daily motion. Through my videos, I hope each of you, my precious audience will find ideas, techniques, crafting methods, for your diy projects or home decoration. To have those videos of paper crafts for Christmas, Halloween, home decor, or other topics, I have spent quite a time on study crafting techniques, video it, editing,... with a hope that you will receive only value at each second of my video. It would be a great encouragement for me to have your follow on my channel, your like and comments. I do appreciate it
