Hello! I am Taco Prins, PhD candidate in Environmental Economics at the MInt section of the University of Amsterdam, under the supervision of Rick van der Ploeg and Ton van den Bremer.
My research focuses on climate change as a macroeconomic risk and optimal climate adaptation.
The first research project of my PhD has been a paper with my supervisors on optimal flood protection. We provide quantitative results calibrated to the Netherlands.
I'm currently working on a second paper, with fellow PhD student Sevim Dinlemez, that studies heterogeneous beliefs over climate risk in the housing market. This will be my job market paper.
Prior to my PhD, I completed a BA in Philosophy, Politics, and Economics and an MPhil in Economics, both at the University of Oxford. I also have work experience at several Dutch policy institutions. My full CV can be found here.
