TabTone is a Chrome extension that helps users tag open tabs, filter tabs by tag, and save local tab groups. This Privacy Policy explains what data the extension handles and how that data is used.
TabTone may handle the following data:
User-created tab tags and custom tag labels.
Open tab titles and URLs needed to attach tags to the correct tabs.
Saved group names and saved group URLs.
Local popup preferences such as the selected filter.
Theme preference.
The extension uses this data only to provide its visible tab-tagging and saved-group features. Tab titles and URLs are used to show the tab list, attach tags to the correct tab, focus selected tabs, and reopen saved groups.
TabTone does not use user data for advertising, analytics, unrelated profiling, credit decisions, or sale to third parties.
TabTone stores its data locally in the user's browser using Chrome extension storage. Data remains on the user's device until the user clears extension data, removes saved groups or tags, clears browser data, or uninstalls the extension.
TabTone does not sell, rent, transfer, or share user data with advertisers, data brokers, analytics providers, or other third parties.
The extension does not require a developer-operated server. It does not send tab titles, URLs, tags, saved groups, or preferences to an external service.
TabTone requests the following Chrome permissions:
storage: Saves tab tags, saved groups, and preferences locally.
tabs: Reads tab titles and URLs so tags can be attached to open tabs, focuses selected tabs, and opens saved group URLs when the user requests it.
TabTone does not request host permissions.
Users can remove tags, delete saved groups, clear browser extension storage, or uninstall the extension to remove stored data.
Because TabTone stores data locally, users should protect their device and browser profile. Anyone with access to the same browser profile may be able to view locally stored extension data.
TabTone is not directed to children under 13 and does not knowingly collect personal information from children.
The use of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
This policy may be updated if TabTone's features or data practices change. The effective date above should be updated whenever the policy changes.
