TabTether - New Tab Reason Reminder is a Chrome extension that helps you remember why you opened a tab. This policy explains what information the extension handles and how it is used.
TabTether stores the short reasons that you type into the new tab page or toolbar popup. These reasons are saved locally in your browser using Chrome's local extension storage.
TabTether does not collect, sell, share, or rent your tab reasons, browsing activity, website content, account details, payment information, or personally identifiable information. Saved tab reasons are not transmitted to the developer or to a TabTether server.
Your saved reasons are used only to provide TabTether's core features:
showing the reason in the new tab title while the new tab page is open;
showing the reason for the current tab in the toolbar popup;
showing a local list of recent reasons in the new tab page and popup.
If you use the optional "Go next" field after saving a reason, the extension navigates your browser to the URL or search page you submit. Search submissions open Google Search. Those destination requests are ordinary browsing requests handled by the destination site; they are not sent to the TabTether developer.
Reasons remain on your device until you clear them in the extension, clear Chrome extension storage, or uninstall the extension. Recent reason history is limited to 80 entries.
TabTether does not send saved reasons or extension data to the developer or to any third party. The extension has no remote server, analytics service, advertising SDK, or external tracking code.
TabTether requests the storage permission so it can save your reasons locally. It does not request host permissions, browsing history access, cookies, scripting access, or permission to read website content.
Because TabTether does not transmit your data, your reasons stay inside Chrome's local extension storage on your device. You should avoid typing sensitive secrets such as passwords, authentication codes, financial account numbers, or private health information into tab reasons.
The use of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. TabTether uses Chrome extension APIs only to provide or improve its single purpose: saving and displaying user-entered tab reasons locally.
If TabTether's data practices change, this policy will be updated before the extension is published or updated with those changes.
