We begin matching puppies with their new families between 7 and 8 weeks old and they are able to leave for their new homes between 8 and 10 weeks. Every dog and puppy has a unique personality and German Shepherd drives vary, therefore, we cannot place puppies based on pictures or solely on their appearance. We prefer to match puppies to their new families, placing an emphasis on their personality and temperament. We welcome your input and encourage you to share as much information as possible about your home and lifestyle to help us match you with a pup that is a great fit for your family. If there is more than one suitable match in a litter, you can select from those puppies based on your selection order on our reservation list. We spend a great deal of time interacting with, observing, and constantly evaluating our pups daily from birth, we are their humans for the first few months of their lives, and ultimately we know them (and their parents) better than anyone. It's very difficult to gauge puppy temperament on one or two isolated meetings and puppy personalities develop and change drastically throughout the first few weeks of their lives. The best way to find a great match is not necessarily to meet the litter and choose the puppy that is drawn to you. (Most likely, that's the most outgoing and curious pup of the litter who is drawn to everyone and investigates everything.) The best way to find a pup that is a great fit is to provide us with clear and honest goals and as many details as possible about what you are looking for in your new family member. We only let our puppies go to homes that are best suited for them. It's important to us that those homes value our input and trust our placement decisions.
