TabHive is a browser extension designed with privacy as a core principle, not an afterthought. We built TabHive on a single promise:
Your browsing data never leaves your device. Ever.
This Privacy Policy explains what data TabHive accesses, how it is used, and how it is stored. Please read it carefully.
TabHive does not collect any personal information.
TabHive does not collect, transmit, store on external servers, or share any of the following:
Your browsing history
The URLs or titles of tabs you open
Your search queries
Your IP address or location
Your name, email address, or any account information
Device identifiers or hardware information
Usage analytics or behavioral data
Crash reports or diagnostic data
To provide its features, TabHive accesses certain browser data exclusively on your local device. This data never leaves your browser.

All of the above is stored using chrome.storage.local — a sandboxed storage area private to the extension on your device. It is not synced to any cloud service or external database.
We do not share any data with any third party.
TabHive has:
❌ No backend server
❌ No database
❌ No analytics service (Google Analytics, Mixpanel, etc.)
❌ No advertising network
❌ No crash reporting service
❌ No cloud sync
❌ No third-party SDKs or libraries that transmit data
TabHive makes zero outbound network requests.
The extension does not communicate with any external server, API, or service. There are no calls to Anthropic, OpenAI, Firebase, AWS, or any other cloud provider. All processing happens entirely within your browser using built-in Chrome APIs.
You can verify this yourself by opening Chrome DevTools → Network tab while using TabHive. You will see no external requests.
TabHive requests the following Chrome permissions solely to deliver its core features:
Permission
Why It Is Needed
tabs
Read tab titles and URLs to display, group, and search tabs locally
storage
Save archived tabs, workspaces, and settings to local device storage
tabGroups
Create and manage Chrome's native tab groups for auto-grouping
alarms
Run a background check every 5 minutes to detect and archive inactive tabs
windows
Focus the correct browser window when jumping to a tab from search
TabHive does not collect any data from any user, including children under the age of 13. As no personal information is collected or transmitted, TabHive is safe for users of all ages.
Since all data is stored locally on your device using Chrome's sandboxed chrome.storage.local API, it is protected by Chrome's own security model. TabHive cannot access this data from outside the browser, and no one else can either.
If you uninstall TabHive, all locally stored data (archived tabs, workspaces, settings) is automatically deleted by Chrome.
You have full control over all data TabHive stores:
View data — Open the popup → Settings
Delete archived tabs — Archived tab → Delete, or "Delete All" in the Archived view
Delete workspaces — Workspaces view → Delete
Reset all data — Uninstall the extension (Chrome removes all storage automatically)
If we make any changes to this Privacy Policy, we will update the Last Updated date at the top of this document and release a new version of the extension. Continued use of TabHive after any changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
Since TabHive collects no data, changes to this policy will only occur if new features are added that require different permissions — and those will always be justified transparently.
If you have any questions or concerns about this Privacy Policy or TabHive's data practices, please contact:
