Hello Taáwila Tribe! I’m Denise Walker, your PTA Secretary for the 2024-2025 school year. I’m a proud mom of five, including a first grader at Taawila Elementary. I hold a Bachelor's in Business Administration from USC. Previously, I served as PTA Secretary at St. Philomena School and as Secretary for the Fil-AM Chamber of Commerce in Orange County. Before becoming a stay-at-home mom, I was Sessions Director for SXSW Interactive in Austin, working on diversity initiatives in tech. I co-founded Disrupt Academy with my daughter, Victoria, creating coding camps and hackathons for diverse inner-city kids. I’ve also written for TechZulu, covering trends in the startup community. In my free time, I enjoy salsa dancing and playing the piano. I’m excited to work with parents, teachers, and school admins to make this a successful and fun school year!   🐾🐻
