From Theory to Practice 

At AIMS Research and Innovation Centre, we understand that Africa's growth and development in various sectors, such as health, education, and agriculture, are closely linked to advancements in science and technology. As such, our research team is dedicated to advancing data science from both theoretical and practical perspectives. To pursue this objective, we created the "From Theory to Practice (T2P)" workshop in Data Science. This workshop aims to provide a platform to discuss and explore cutting-edge data science topics that are relevant to solving problems on the African continent, in particular.  These issues include, for example, health, education, agriculture, engineering, and society. Topics covered in the workshop include, but are not limited to, artificial intelligence, machine learning, statistics, quantum machine learning, and computational engineering.

The "From Theory to Practice" workshop is a yearly hybrid event held in Kigali, Rwanda. It brings together experts from academia and industry, as well as young researchers and practitioners, to foster an environment of exchanging scientific ideas and industrial projects, and to facilitate the formation of new collaborations. The goal is to bridge the gap between theory and practice and advance the field of data science.

This workshop is organized by Research and Development group of the AIMS Research and Innovation Centre with the support of the Carnegie Corporation of New York.
