T.N. Deepu Kumar, Ph.D., Mechanical Engineering
Hi!
I am currently a Postdoctoral Fellow at IITM Pravartak Technologies Foundation, at the Research Park hosted by IIT Madras and funded by the Department of Science and Technology, Government of India, under its National Mission on Interdisciplinary Cyber-Physical Systems. Before this, I completed my Ph.D. from the Department of Mechanical Engineering at the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Madras, under the supervision of Prof. Sivasrinivasu Devadula.
I have 7+ years of experience in simulation-driven manufacturing process modelling and control. I have developed data-driven time series modelling (etching, fluid-flow, thermal, vibration) and advanced models like PINN-based thermal compensation, and am skilled in IIoT-integrated systems. My work is aligned with Industry 4.0 and digital twin technologies, contributing significantly to academic and applied research.
Before joining IIT Madras, I pursued my Master's (computational Mechanics stream) from the Department of Mechanical Engineering at the Indian Insititute of Technology (IIT), Guwahati, under the guidance of Prof. Mamilla Ravi Sankar (Currently HoD at IIT Tirupathi).
My area of interest encompasses a range of areas, including Unconventional machining, Rheology, Modeling and Simulation, Computational Analysis, Multiphysics Modeling, Machining Process Modeling, Machine Tools, Thermal Compensation, Automation and Smart Manufacturing, Cyber-physical Systems, AI/ML-aided Manufacturing, and Physics-Informed neural networks (PINNs).
You will find a brief introduction to our research, profile, and publications on this website.
