This Chrome extension ("SynthChatGPT Integrator," "the Extension") is provided by Radiology Associates of San Luis Obispo ("RASLO," "we," "our") for internal use by our authenticated workforce. Distribution is restricted to accounts in the ra-slo.com Google Workspace domain. It is not intended for use by individuals outside our organization.
The Extension bridges two web applications that are already open in the radiologist's browser: Synthesis Health PACS (us.synthos.health) and ChatGPT (chatgpt.com). It reads report text from the Synthesis report editor, transfers it into the ChatGPT composer in the user's own authenticated ChatGPT session, and transfers ChatGPT's response back into the Synthesis report editor for the radiologist's review.
The radiologist initiates every transfer, and reviews and edits all returned text before signing the report.
We collect nothing. The Extension has no backend server, no API keys, and makes no network requests of its own. It does not transmit any data to RASLO, to the developer, or to any analytics, telemetry, or logging service. All data movement occurs between two browser tabs on the user's own device.
The following data is handled locally by the Extension in the course of that transfer:
Report content. Text read from the Synthesis report editor — including report templates, findings, impressions, and prior report text — which the user chooses to send to ChatGPT. This may contain Protected Health Information (PHI).
ChatGPT response text. Text read from the rendered ChatGPT conversation and inserted into the Synthesis report editor.
This content is held in memory only for the duration of the transfer. The Extension does not write report content to disk, to browser storage, or to any external destination.
The Extension stores two user preferences using Chrome's storage.sync API, which Chrome synchronizes to the signed-in user's Google Account:
extensionEnabled — a true/false toggle controlling whether the Extension is active.
chatgptSelectors — optional CSS selector overrides used to locate elements in the ChatGPT interface when its layout changes.
Neither contains report content, patient data, or personal information.
OpenAI (ChatGPT). Report text that the user sends through the Extension is submitted to ChatGPT through the user's own authenticated ChatGPT session in a separate browser tab, exactly as if the user had pasted the text into ChatGPT manually. OpenAI's handling of that content is governed by OpenAI's terms and privacy policy and by the terms of the ChatGPT account the user is signed into. The Extension does not use the OpenAI API, does not hold OpenAI credentials, and does not create or control the user's ChatGPT session.
RASLO workforce members are required to use RASLO's ChatGPT Enterprise workspace, which is covered by a Business Associate Agreement with OpenAI and is configured so that submitted content is not used to train OpenAI's models.
Synthesis Health. The Extension reads from and writes to the Synthesis Health PACS application the user is already authenticated to. It does not send Synthesis data anywhere except to the ChatGPT tab as described above.
We do not transmit data to any other third party. We do not use data handled by the Extension for advertising, profiling, resale, model training, or any purpose unrelated to the Extension's stated function.
scripting — to inject the Extension's content script into the Synthesis single-page application after client-side navigation.
storage — to save the two user preferences described above.
webNavigation — to detect Synthesis in-app route changes so the content script can be re-injected.
Host access to us.synthos.health — to read and write the report editor.
Host access to chatgpt.com and chat.openai.com — to place text in the ChatGPT composer and read the response.
The Extension requests no permissions beyond these and accesses no other websites.
The Extension retains no report content. The two stored preferences persist until the user changes them or uninstalls the Extension. Uninstalling removes all Extension-managed storage.
The use of information received through the Extension will adhere to the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
Use of the Extension is voluntary and may be discontinued at any time by disabling it from the toolbar popup or uninstalling it. As a member of our workforce, your use of the Extension is also governed by RASLO's HIPAA, security, and acceptable use policies, including any policy governing the use of generative AI tools with patient information.
The Extension communicates only with pages served over HTTPS. It stores no credentials, tokens, or API keys. It contains no remotely hosted code; all executable code is contained in the published package.
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated to RASLO workforce members through our standard internal channels. The "Last updated" date above reflects the most recent revision.
