Centre for Plant Molecular Biology and Biotechnology, Tamil Nadu Agricultural University is organizing a joint symposium with Corteva AgriscienceTM on “Crop Genomics and Data Science: Challenges and Opportunities- 2019” during 17– 18th October 2019. Corteva is organizing series of Plant Science Symposium all over the world since 2008. In India, such symposia were organized at IARI, ICRISAT and UAS, Bangaluru. The next symposium of its kind will be at TNAU.

About TNAU and CPMB & B

Tamil Nadu Agricultural University (TNAU) Coimbatore, came into existence in 1906 and has celebrated its centenary year. Ever since its inception, TNAU has been in forefront of agricultural education and research. The university is now over hundred years into existence and has established several constituent colleges offering graduate, postgraduate and doctoral programs .The Centre for Plant Molecular Biology (CPMB) was established in 1989 to take up research in plants based on cues from the science of Plant Molecular Biology. Since the inception of CPMB there have been several research initiatives in major crops with multitude objectives but leading to one broader goal - Crop improvement. The department offers B.Tech. programs in Biotechnology and Bioinformatics. Besides, MSc (Ag) and PhD programs in Biotechnology has been offered.

About Plant Science Symposium, 2019

We positively welcome the research scholars both Masters and Doctoral level, who work in various field of agriculture like Biotechnology, Plant Breeding, Crop Physiology, Pathology, Microbiology and Entomology, Horticulture, Statistics, Agronomy, Agro-meteorology and Geoinformatics who are actively involved in the agricultural science research.

The main focus will be:

· Exposing the young generation agriculture research community in the latest techniques, ideas, from the variety of subject matter expert from academia and industry

· Symposium will facilitate effective networking of agricultural scientist in the world arena which will bring variety of agriculture research work force in common platform to bridge the knowledge gap in interdisciplinary research in modern day science

· Apart from lead speaker presentation, limited students will be selected based on the area and quality of research for oral presentation in the symposium

· The technical session abstract will be published electronically and circulated to all the participants of symposium
