SymLife — Privacy Policy
Last updated: July 29, 2026
SymLife ("SymLife," "the app," "we," "us," or "our") is a single-player
life-simulation game. We built SymLife to be private by design. This policy
explains what information the app does and does not handle.
The short version: SymLife does not require an account, does not ask for your
name or any personal details, and does not collect, transmit, sell, or share
personal information. Everything about your characters and game progress stays
on your device.
1. Information we collect
We do not collect personal information. SymLife has no sign-up, no login, and
no user accounts. We do not ask for or access your real name, email address,
phone number, contacts, photos, precise location, or any government or
financial identifiers. Any names, birthplaces, character traits, or other
details you type while playing are fictional game inputs. They are saved only
on your device and are never sent to us.
2. Where your data is stored
All game data — including your characters, choices, statistics, money,
relationships, achievements, settings, and saved games — is stored locally on
your device using your device's standard app storage. This data is not
transmitted to or backed up on any server we control. If your device or
operating system backs up app data (for example, through iCloud or Android
Backup), that backup is governed by Apple's or Google's privacy policies, not
ours.
3. Network connections
SymLife works almost entirely offline. The app makes outbound internet
requests only to download static content used to present the game:
- Avatar artwork (character images and accessories) hosted on a
content-delivery network.
- Sound effects and ambient audio hosted on a content-delivery network.
These are ordinary requests to fetch images and audio. As with any request to
load a file from the internet, the hosting providers' servers may
automatically log standard technical information (such as your IP address,
device type, and the file requested) in order to deliver the content and
maintain their service. SymLife does not send any of your game data, character
details, or personal information in these requests, and we do not receive or
store this technical log data ourselves. We do not use these connections to
identify or track you.
4. What we do NOT do
- We do not collect or store personal information.
- We do not use analytics, telemetry, or usage-tracking SDKs.
- We do not use advertising or ad networks, and we do not show third-party ads.
- We do not track you across other apps or websites.
- We do not sell, rent, or share your information with anyone.
- We do not use cookies for tracking.
5. Permissions
SymLife does not request access to sensitive device features or data such as
your location, camera, microphone, contacts, photo library, or health data.
The app may use standard, non-identifying device capabilities such as haptic
feedback (vibration) and audio playback to deliver the game experience.
6. Children's privacy
SymLife is intended for a mature audience. It is a fictional life simulator
that includes mature themes such as simulated gambling, crime, romance, and
violence, and it is not directed to children. Regardless of a user's age, the
app collects no personal information from anyone. Because we do not collect
data, there is nothing for us to retain or delete; you can remove all locally
stored game data at any time by deleting your saves in the app or uninstalling
it.
7. Your choices and controls
Because your data lives on your device, you are in full control of it:
- Delete an individual life/save from within the app at any time.
- Clear all SymLife data by uninstalling the app from your device.
8. Data security
Your game data is stored within the app's private storage area provided by
your device's operating system. Because we do not transmit or store your data
on external servers, the primary safeguard for your data is the security of
your own device. We recommend keeping your device's operating system up to
date and protected with a passcode or biometric lock.
9. Your rights (GDPR, CCPA/CPRA, and similar laws)
Privacy laws such as the EU/UK GDPR and the California Consumer Privacy Act
grant you rights over the personal information a company holds about you,
including rights to access, correct, or delete it. Because SymLife does not
collect or hold any personal information about you, we have no such data to
access, correct, export, or delete. We do not "sell" or "share" personal
information as those terms are defined under these laws.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time, for example to reflect
changes to the app or legal requirements. When we do, we will revise the "Last
updated" date above. Significant changes may also be noted in the app or its
store listing. Your continued use of SymLife after an update means you accept
the revised policy.
11. In-App Purchases and Subscriptions
The statements above about not collecting, transmitting, or sharing your information describe your gameplay and character data. Optional in-app purchases are the one exception, and they work as follows:
SymLife offers optional purchases premium subscriptions, one-time unlocks, and in-game currency. We never see, process, or store your payment card or any financial details. All payments are handled securely by Apple through your App Store account.
To deliver your purchases and let you restore them across devices, we use RevenueCat, a purchase-management service. RevenueCat processes a randomly generated, anonymous app-user ID together with the transaction and receipt details Apple provides. This is used only to unlock and restore the content you bought. It is not tied to your name or real-world identity, and we do not use it for advertising or tracking.
Purchases are entirely optional and SymLife is fully playable for free. You can review how these providers handle data in Apple's and RevenueCat's privacy policies.
