Remember that some words can be both literal and figurative. For example, “a healthy athlete” or “a healthy appetite” (a large appetite) —— “a concrete building” or “a concrete idea” , etc
use images.google.com to get some ideas, and to see generally how the word is used. For example, “exotic” can refer to islands, cars, cultures, people, etc. The general consensus of the google page seems to be that “exotic” refers to something tropical and colorful. For example an Amazonian parrot is a bird, but it’s an exotic bird because it’s strange and colorful and different than the average bird.
The phrase you construct doesn’t have to be an ADJ-N combination… it can be any phrase that helps you remember the adjective. For example, I personally associate “numb” with “comfortably numb”, the song by Pink Floyd (ADV-ADJ)
