The SWSCP is a forum for Continental philosophy, broadly construed. Our community members work across diverse geographies, methods, and styles of philosophy, though traditional emphases include classical, critical, and applied phenomenology; existentialism; feminist and decolonial thought; Critical Theory; and the global history/histories of philosophy.

First hosted by the University of New Mexico in 2010, the SWSCP meets yearly in the American Southwest. We welcome philosophers—at all career stages—from across the United States, and around the world.

We are excited to account that the 2026 Meeting of the SWSCP will be in Merced, California, hosted by UC Merced, June 26–28.
