Swift PDF Reader (the "App") is a lightweight utility application focused on PDF and image processing, QR / barcode scanning, and document management on mobile devices. This Privacy Policy explains how the App uses your device permissions and our commitment to protecting your personal information.

1. What Information Do We Collect?
None.
The App does not collect, store, or transmit any of your personal information whatsoever, including but not limited to:
- Name, phone number, email address
- Location data
- Contacts, SMS, call logs
- Web browsing history
- Device identifiers (IMEI / IMSI / Android ID / MAC address)
- Usage statistics or behavioral data
- Third-party analytics SDKs (Firebase Analytics, Umeng, Tencent Analytics, etc.)
- Third-party ad SDKs (AdMob, Pangle, GDT, Unity Ads, etc.)
The App has no INTERNET permission. All features run entirely on your device locally and never connect to any server, cloud storage, or remote service.
All files you process (PDFs, images, QR scan results) are opened via Android's standard file picker or camera and never leave your device.
2. What Permissions Do We Request and Why?
The App requests a single permission, and it is used solely to deliver core functionality. No data is uploaded anywhere.
Permission Purpose
CAMERA Scan QR codes and barcodes using your device camera. The camera stream is processed in real time on-device by the ZXing library and never recorded, stored, or transmitted.
Additionally, the App uses Android's standard photo / file picker system (ActivityResultContracts.PickVisualMedia, OpenDocument) to let you select local PDFs and images for processing. These are system-level pickers — the App does not directly access or request read/write storage permissions on Android 13+ (API 33+). On older Android versions, the system may automatically grant scoped read access when you pick a file.
3. Data Storage and Security
- All files you process (PDFs, compressed images, merged documents, etc.) are saved to local storage only, at a location you explicitly choose through the system file picker or the app's own save dialog.
- All temporary data generated by the App (such as in-memory bitmaps during compression, scan caches, or intermediate PDF streams) exists only in device RAM and is discarded immediately after each operation finishes. Nothing is written to persistent storage unless you actively save the result.
- When you uninstall the App, any remaining temporary data is completely removed by the Android system.
- The App does not implement any local database, SQLite, Room, or SharedPreferences storage for user content. Settings and preferences are stored in the app's private SharedPreferences and never leave the device.
4. Third-Party Services and Libraries
The App uses the following open-source libraries — all are processed entirely on your device with no outbound network calls:
Library Purpose Network Access
CameraX Camera preview for QR scanning None
ZXing QR / barcode image decoding and encoding None
pdfbox-android PDF parsing, compression, encryption, merging, splitting None
The App does not integrate any third-party services, including but not limited to:
- Analytics / crash reporting (Firebase, Bugly, Sentry, etc.)
- Ad serving (AdMob, Unity Ads, Pangle, etc.)
- Social login (Google, Facebook, WeChat, etc.)
- Cloud storage or backup (Firebase Storage, Dropbox, etc.)
- Remote configuration or A/B testing
- Push notification services
5. Children's Privacy
The App is not directed to children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. Since the App does not collect any personal data, there are no additional privacy risks for children.
6. Your Rights
As a user, you have the following rights:

Since the App does not collect any personal data, you do not need to submit additional requests for data deletion, export, or correction.

If there are material changes (such as introducing network features, third-party SDKs, or additional permissions in the future), we will notify you through in-app dialogs, in-app notifications, or version update notes, and obtain your consent where necessary.
