In case your Pedal Commander unit is out of reach and hidden somewhere underneath your dash, we've made it accessible to control the unit right through your phone with our app for iOS (10.0 +) and Android (5.0+). Download it here for free on the App Store or Google Play.

Not at all. The reason is, when you go to the service for any repair work on your vehicle, they will first scan your engine via a computer. Pedal Commander does not leave any traces on your vehicle. When you take your vehicle to your manufacturer for any reason or when you want to sell it, you can just disconnect the Pedal Commander, and it will be like it was never there!

In addition to providing a more efficient throttle response, the Eco mode on the Pedal Commander also encourages a more gentle and efficient driving style. Reducing the amount of power that is delivered to the engine when you press the accelerator pedal, it can help you to avoid sudden acceleration and rapid changes in speed, which can be less fuel-efficient. This can be especially useful when driving in stop-and-go traffic or in other situations where you need to maintain a consistent speed.

This mode is somewhere between Eco and Sport modes. It is ideal for city driving, where you need to accelerate and decelerate often. Many of our customers say that city mode allows the vehicle to accelerate as it should have from the factory. It gives you the response of an "old school" throttle cable with a 1:1 pedal-to-throttle acceleration ratio.

High-powered side-by-sides fly off lots faster than dealers can bring in fresh stock. It's almost uncanny how many folks pay new-car money for off-road-only vehicles. They're usually loaded into an enclosed trailer and then towed by a diesel pickup that's yet to have its first oil change; you know the ones I'm talking about. But beyond stacks of disposable income, I knew there had to be a reason people keep dragging side-by-sides like the 2021 Can-Am Commander Max XT home. They've got to be more than status symbols, surely.

Now, I've tested workhorse UTVs before, but never anything with 100 horsepower like the Commander Max XT you see here. Even then, it's a full 95 HP short of the company's Maverick X3 X RS Turbo RR, but I promise it's got plenty of pep. I spent a few weeks with it around our creekside property, driving it where it was developed to go. It was time to see if it was worth the price that could also score you one heck of a trail Jeep.

Can-Am found a way to squeeze eight more HP from the Rotax V-twin versus the previous model year which is, of course, welcomed here. After all, 100 HP makes for a nice, round number, and that updated engine is fitted to each member of the Commander family. If you're looking for a Can-Am with less oomph, then a smaller Defender might be the choice for you.

I got familiar with just about everywhere I could drive it over the course of a few weeks... save for one spot near the water that I eventually paid for. I went to make a sharp turn and applied the throttle, just as I had basically everywhere else on our 70 or so acres. With a good amount of momentum, I yanked the wheel with the pedal down and found an extremely loose patch of gravel that dropped off on the other side. We'd been moving rock with our tractors for the past week and, wouldn't you know it, I found the worst part and promptly laid the Commander over on its side.

Just after I began the testing period last month, we put out a call for any and all questions you might have about the Can-Am Commander. As we'll be doing from now on with our test drives, we picked a handful that weren't covered specifically in the rest of the review to answer here.

If you're in the market for a UTV with respectable performance, you might already know the Can-Am's measurable qualities. They're all competitive with Honda, or Yamaha, or whoever else. And much like the case with similarly positioned performance cars, there's hardly a bad choice you can make. If you're leaning toward the Commander Max XT, it's safe to be confident in that. It's genuinely that good.

How is the Commander Core behaving? Are you able to adjust speeds on it in the same way (custom curve PWM%)? Its preset curves (Quiet/Balanced/Extreme) have a different meaning than on the Commander and it likely stays in that 600-800 range normally. The irony here is most people when they get the Commander Pro have the opposite problem. It races between 900-1500 rpm, back and forth in concert with the pulsing CPU temp.

This is the workaround I use when I don't have the SG-3IR with me. However, your flash will lose at least 2 stops of power when you switch to high speed sync (actually even with the 1/250 non-HSS mode of the D600, there is a loss of about 1 stop). Sometimes it doesn't matter but it's something to keep in mind.

(As for the original question, the popup commander is not supposed to contribute to the exposure when set to "--" but it does. The difference is very noticeable if you have an SG-3IR and you alternate between flipping the cover open and closed. There is nothing defective with your camera or your popup if the light from the popup flash shows up at "--".)

As for a shortcut to focus on the command line, there is no built in shortcut to do it, but you can again assign a new button or keyboard shortcut to the command cm_FocusCmdLine, which takes you from wherever you are straight to the command bar, selecting its whole content.

There is a way to create custom hotkeys for functions in TC (for all available commands) or even for custom commands. Information can be found here and here. You may be able to create your desired shortcuts there.

Double Commander keeps its configuration settings in files. You may configure the location of these configuration file from the Configuration settings section. There is usually no need to edit these files manually, since with rare exceptions, the parameters of Double Commander are available through the program's interface.

The "Options" window allows to set almost all of the options in Double Commander, but there are several parameters that can only be changed manually in the doublecmd.xml configuration file. A filter by parameter name is available at the bottom of the window: the program will display only those sections that contain a matching parameter.(Beta version)

Note: To the right of the file or directory choose buttons is the button Some functions to select appropriate path : the popup menu contains lists of variables (including environment variables) and some additional functions, see description here.

The color settings here are global settings for both file panels. These settings can be overridden by creating a customised column style which can have its own color settings, and more, for each tab in the panel! See Files views > Columns > Custom columns for details on how to do this. You should adjust the current style of the columns (Default by default) or create your own style and apply it for any tab.

Also here you can decrease the brightness of the inactive panel and change the appearance of the drive free space indicator. Double Commander can display a gradient (from green to red) or simple monochrome indicator, for a monochrome indicator you can choose the color and background. Indicator Threshold Color(Beta version) will be used if the free disk space is less than 10%. The indicator example is clickable, so you can see how it will look.(Beta version)

In line Category mask put a wildcard mask to match file types (symbol "*" means match any number of characters, symbol "?" means any one character). You may put multiple file types here using a semicolon ";" without spaces between them. Also you can use search templates (), including search with content plugins.

Below is a table with columns of the selected set, here you can set the number, name, content, place and size of columns. The count of lines in the table is equal to the count of columns in the set. Adding a new column: use the down arrow key or right-click in the empty area near the table and select Add column.

Packer plugins are used to unpack specific types of files, usually archive formats. Some plugins also support creating new archives and modifying existing archives.

There are plugins that allow to save a list of selected files or use batch processing: creating links, converting files, copying with specific conditions, etc.

Order matters: when choosing an appropriate plugin, Double Commander starts checking by extension from top to bottom. Use the By extension/By plugin button to switch list view and drag and drop.

You can change the layout of the main window here. I suppose, all the available options are explained on the screenshot above (Layout). The screenshot below illustrates what DC looks like with all the layout options unselected.

The Buffer size for file operations (in KB) and Buffer size for hash calculation (in KB) parameters set the size of the allocated memory for operations such as copying, moving, splitting or combining files, searching for files by content and calculating checksums. You should keep in mind that there is no universal value, but you can try to find a more suitable size.

Note: The first parameter is not used in the copy function in Windows, since the system function is used for copying.

As an indicator, Double Commander uses an empty doublecmd.inf file in the program directory: if the file exists, Double Commander will load configuration files from the program directory and save them here, otherwise Double Commander will use the current user's folder. You can manually add the doublecmd.inf file and get a portable version, or delete it by switching the storage method to the user's folder. be457b7860
