Get Outside! Activity

Students select a place outside (yard, park, schoolyard) and observe the area for 15 minutes. Create a log of what plants and animals are present. Students can draw the plant/animal and/or describe in words. Think about and discuss why those plants or animals may have been in that area. How is the environment related to the plants and animals present? Use field guides to try to identify any unknown plants or animals.
