Professor Goecke has been a full professor of mechanical engineering at TH Brandenburg since 2009. Prior to that, he has been working in the RnD of welding power sources with numerous firms and coordinating Industry-Academia joint consortia in welding science and technology. He has concentrated particularly on GMAW to understand the development and insightful interactions of the arc plasma and thus improve stability and performance. His focus is towards sensing, monitoring and adaptive control of arc welding and AM processes using responsive sensors and camera systems for robust industrial applications. He was Guest Professor at University West, Sweden, Shanghai University of Engineering Science, China and from 2024 at RAJA in JWRI at the Osaka University, Japan. Currently, he serves as senior member in several committees of German Welding Society and as German Delegate in IIW Commissions XII and XIX.
