Commitment
Development, manufacturing, and sales of:
precise models for surgical training and their components, and
surgical rehearsal/navigation/education systems with such models.
Minimally invasive surgery, represented by endoscopic surgery, is rapidly becoming widespread because patients will have such benefits as smaller scars, less pain, and a shorter hospital stay. However, this is also a difficult operation that requires a high level of surgical skill for the surgeon. Inexperienced surgical skills leads to complications like unintended injuries. From the standpoint of ergonomics and human-computer interface research, we aim to contribute to the improvement of surgical safety by proposing a new surgical technique training system for an increasingly sophisticated minimally invasive surgical environment. It was founded by researchers in AIST, Japan.
Why is minimally invasive surgery difficult? How do you evaluate the skill level of surgery? How can you train effectively? These are fundamental issues that need to be resolved.
We provide integrated solutions based on ergonomics and advanced digital technologies such as computer graphics (CG), virtual reality (VR), and 3D printing (rapid prototyping, RP).
