If you want a lightweight, budget-friendly wired hybrid IEM that pairs perfectly with glasses without causing pressure points, choose Surfans M10; if you need studio-grade planar magnetic sound with extreme detail and a premium build for critical listening, choose Hidizs MP145.
For those of us who wear eyeglasses daily, finding the right in-ear monitor is often less about the frequency response curve on a graph and more about the physical interface between your ear canal and the frame arms of your spectacles. The tension created by temple tips pressing against the outer ear can turn a high-fidelity experience into a headache within an hour. This comparison focuses entirely on how these two distinct wired options handle that specific mechanical challenge while delivering their respective sonic signatures. Both are wired, both demand a dedicated source, and neither relies on Bluetooth to function. The decision here comes down to whether you prioritize comfort and value or raw technical performance and driver technology.
• Surfans M10: Its greatest strength is its ultra-lightweight 5g design and ergonomic shape that minimizes interference with glasses frames, while its trade-off is the use of a hybrid dynamic/balanced armature setup that cannot match the sheer speed and resolution of planar drivers.
• Hidizs MP145: It offers a massive 14.5mm planar magnetic diaphragm that delivers unmatched transient speed and holographic imaging, but it sits heavier at 9.5g per earpiece and requires more power to drive than the M10.
• Best for Glasses Wearers: The Surfans M10 is the safer bet for all-day comfort under temple arms, whereas the Hidizs MP145 is best for short, critical listening sessions where sound quality trumps weight.
The Surfans M10 enters the market as a practical solution for listeners who want HiFi fidelity without the bulk of high-end audiophile gear. At approximately 5 grams per earpiece, it is remarkably light. This low mass is not just a number; it translates directly to how the device interacts with your face. When you are wearing glasses, the pressure points are often concentrated around the top of the ear and the concha. A heavier earbud adds leverage that pushes the ear tip deeper, which can eventually cause pain or force the glasses frame out of alignment. The M10 avoids this by keeping the profile low and the weight negligible.
Its construction features a transparent shell with a silver-white faceplate, giving it a refined look that feels solid despite the lightness. The design utilizes a 9.2mm nano-composite dynamic driver paired with a balanced armature. This hybrid configuration is tuned to provide controlled bass, clear vocals, and detailed highs. The separation between instruments is handled well enough for everyday music enjoyment, music practice, or even home-studio monitoring. While it does not offer the "holographic" spread of a planar driver, it keeps things distinct and cohesive, which is exactly what most casual listeners need.

Comfort is further enhanced by the inclusion of six pairs of silicone and foam ear tips. This variety allows you to find a seal that works for your specific ear canal shape without relying on a single rigid fit. The passive sound isolation provided by the silicone tips helps reduce outside distractions, which is useful in noisy environments. The cable included is a 4-core silver-plated OCC (Single Crystal Copper) wire, which is a significant upgrade over standard stock cables. It supports clean signal transmission and connects via a detachable 0.78mm 2-pin interface. This means if the cable ever wears out or you want to try a different one later, you aren't stuck with a fixed wire.
However, the M10 is not designed for everyone. If you are a purist chasing the absolute limit of resolution or the fastest possible transient response, this hybrid setup might feel slightly slower compared to pure planar designs. It also has a sensitivity of 106dB and an impedance of 20 ohms, meaning it is easy to drive but still benefits from a decent portable DAC or DAP to unlock its full potential. It is an excellent choice for students, commuters, or musicians who need a reliable pair of monitors that won't hurt after an hour of use. But if you have very large ears or require the maximum possible soundstage width, you might find the smaller 9.2mm driver limiting.
The Hidizs MP145 Pro represents a step up in driver technology, moving away from the traditional hybrid approach to embrace a 14.5mm ultra-precision planar diaphragm. Planar magnetic drivers work differently than dynamic drivers; they use a thin film suspended in a magnetic field to move air. The result is a level of control and speed that dynamic drivers simply struggle to match. With a reinforced magnetic circuit featuring N54H magnets that offer 40% stronger flux density, the MP145 delivers surgical bass control and a midrange that reveals natural vocal textures without any artificial coloration.
This is not just about loudness; it is about clarity. The treble extends with silky airiness, creating a soundstage that feels wider and more expansive than what you get from a standard dynamic driver. For someone doing audio editing, mixing, or critical listening to complex orchestral recordings, the ability to pinpoint instrument placement in a holographic space is invaluable. The engineering behind the acoustic tubes eliminates ear fatigue during long sessions, and the chambers are optimized to deliver what feels like throne-room acoustics. It is built for marathon listening sessions where every micro-detail matters.
Physically, the MP145 Pro is more substantial. At 9.5 grams per earpiece, it is nearly double the weight of the Surfans M10. However, Hidizs has engineered the contours specifically to distribute this weight evenly. The casing uses magnesium alloy reinforcement, adding durability without compromising the structural integrity. The earpieces are ergonomically optimized to lock into the ear securely. Despite the added materials and the larger driver, the weight remains ultralight for a planar unit. The package includes upgraded 4-core 6N OFC cable weaving with 99.9999% single-crystal copper and silver plating, ensuring tangle-free usage and crackle-proof connections. It also comes with exclusive Sea Anemone eartips made of high-end liquid silicone, which are designed to be pillow-soft and snug.
This product is ideal for the serious enthusiast who wants to hear every breath in a recording or the subtle reverb of a concert hall. It is compatible with both 3.5mm and 4.4mm plugs, offering flexibility for different output devices. However, the larger size and increased weight mean that users with sensitive ears or those wearing heavy-framed glasses might feel the pressure sooner than with the M10. It is a tool for the professional or the audiophile who prioritizes sonic accuracy above all else. If you plan to listen for four hours straight while working, the MP145 is capable, but you must be comfortable with the physical presence of the earbuds.

In my opinion, if you are a glasses wearer looking for a reliable pair of in-ear monitors for daily use, the Surfans M10 is the one I would buy. The physics of wearing headphones with glasses is unforgiving; every extra gram counts, and the leverage of a heavier earbud can ruin the fit of your spectacles. The M10 solves this problem elegantly with its 5g design while still delivering a very competent hybrid sound signature. It is the smartest choice for someone who needs to wear them for hours without discomfort.
However, if you are a producer, an engineer, or an audiophile who listens for short bursts and demands the absolute best sound quality available, the Hidizs MP145 is the superior tool. The planar magnetic driver technology offers a level of realism and speed that the M10 cannot touch. It is a masterpiece of engineering for those who prioritize sonic performance over all-day weight considerations. Ultimately, the choice depends on whether you value the comfort of the M10 or the sonic perfection of the MP145. For the average user with glasses, the M10 is the winner.
No, both the Surfans M10 and Hidizs MP145 are closed-back in-ear monitors (IEMs), not open-ear headphones. They provide passive noise isolation rather than an open design, which makes them excellent for blocking out distractions but different from bone-conduction or open-back styles.
Neither model is wireless. Both the Surfans M10 and Hidizs MP145 are wired headphones using 3.5mm or 4.4mm jacks. True wireless earbuds introduce compression and latency issues that wired IEMs avoid, but these products do not have Bluetooth capabilities.
While both are technically adult-sized devices, the Surfans M10 is likely the better option for younger users due to its significantly lower weight (5g vs 9.5g). The lighter profile reduces the risk of irritation or slippage caused by glasses frames, making it more suitable for children who might be sensitive to ear pressure.
The Surfans M10 uses a hybrid setup combining a 9.2mm dynamic driver with a balanced armature, focusing on balance and ease of use. The Hidizs MP145 uses a 14.5mm planar magnetic driver, which is known for faster transient response, greater detail, and a wider soundstage, though it requires more power to drive effectively.
