To become good at anything you have to know how to apply basic principles. To become great at it, you have to know when to violate those principles

Surabhit Gupta

I am a senior UG student at the Department of Mechanical Engineering at the Indian Institute of Technology (Banaras Hindu University), Varanasi. Currently, I am a research intern at the University of Washington, Seattle, working on Intelligent sub-surface defect detection under Aniruddh Vashisth. Recently, I have also started working on deep learning and GNN approaches to accelerate molecular dynamics simulations in collaboration with Ankit Gupta.

Apart from my research activities, I am also involved with the robotics community of IIT(BHU), especially the Robotics Research Group (RoboReG). As this group's technical leader, I have led student teams in important national contests and mentored a number of student-driven research projects.

I am motivated and passionate about employing engineering techniques for finding solutions to problems in operations research and intelligent manufacturing. My research interests focus on applications of Robotics, Electronics and Instrumentation in manufacturing, operations and materials science.

I have worked on several interdisciplinary projects. For more details check out the Projects tab.
