Having saved a backup of his consciousness in a separate part of the Animus before the deletion, Clay awakens in the Black Room once more, the Animus having been rebooted after Desmond recovered from his coma. Locked in once again, he fights the code to find a way out. He finds a small crack, escaping into the larger systems of the Animus, and eventually into the other equipment currently being used by the Assassin's in the cave without anyone noticing.
